Blogmas Day 15: The Winter Tag Part Two

Hey Guys!

⭐Welcome To Day Fifteen of Blogmas ⭐

In my previous post, I explained how I was tagged in two Winter Tags that had different rules and questions, so I decided to split them up and put them into two parts ❣

For The Winter Tag Part Two, I was tagged by the incredible and sweet Abby, check out her blog and Winter Tag here.

Any questions that were repeated I didn't bother answering as it was in the previous tag so I've just linked the prior post instead.

In this Winter Tag there are 10 questions to answer and then you can nominate 8 bloggers to take part in the tag! I love doing Christmas and Winter tags so if there are any more Christmas themed tags let me know ❤

Questions and Answers

1. What is your favourite holiday tradition?

My favourite holiday tradition is wearing my Christmas jumper with all of my family and our matching Christmas t-shirts! I also love putting my grandma's ornaments on the Christmas tree ❤

2. What is your favourite winter scent?

I answered this question in part one (Blogmas Day 14) so go and check that out here.

3. What is your favourite winter go-to fashioned trend?

I love jumper dresses in grey for Winter fashion but I haven't been able to buy one as of yet but it is on the wish list. I love the pairing of a jumper dress with black knee-high boots and a bobble hat ❄

4. What is your all-time favourite holiday movie?

I can never choose one! So, at the moment my favourite holiday movies are both The Grinch featuring Jim Carrey and The Holiday! They are Christmas films I can watch again and again!

5. What’s your favourite all-time holiday tune?

Last Christmas by Wham! and All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey they are classics played constantly every year!

6. Do you prefer to travel or stay at home during the holidays?

For the past three years, I travelled away for the holidays. My family and I would travel to Lanzarote and spend Christmas there together. However, this year we are staying home for the holidays and we have a lot of Christmas activities planned!

7. What’s your favourite winter activity?

Going around the Christmas markets and decorating the Christmas tree! It gets me into the festive spirit and excited for Christmas ❤

8. Do you love or hate the snow?

I have a love-hate relationship with snow. I love going out in the snow, sledging and snowball fights and snow is so beautiful, especially watching it fall when you are sat inside watching it. But I hate that after going sledging and partaking in snowball fights you get so cold! I like snow from the view of my window ❄

9. What is one item on your wish list this year?

The Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy book set - I loved the film so I want to read the book and see if it's even better. Then I want to read the other two books to get ahead of the story (I hope they do sequels to the first film!).

10. What is your favourite holiday treat?

I'd say gingerbread biscuits, mince pies and candy canes. There aren't that many Christmas sweets but candy cane is my personal choice ❤ Gingerbread biscuits are my ultimate favourite though!

Blogmas Day 14: The Winter Tag Part One

Hey Guys!

⭐Welcome to Day Fourteen of Blogmas ⭐

I've been tagged in two Winter Tags by the wonderful Hannah and Abby however, they are different Winter Tags and therefore have different rules and questions so I'm going to separate them and do part one on Blogmas Day 14 and part two on Blogmas Day 15 ❤

For part one of The Winter Tag I was tagged by Hannah from Hannah's Bookshelf who is a lovely book blogger so go and check out her blog here

I love tags! Already I've done The Ultimate Christmas Tag for Blogmas so I'm excited to be doing another one so soon!

The Rules

Share 12 random facts about yourself.
Answer the 12 questions.
List 12 bloggers you want to do the tag. They can be anyone you want.
Let the bloggers know you nominated them.

My 12 Random Facts

I'm 20 years old

I'm a third-year student at Newcastle University

I study Media, Communication and Cultural Studies

I recently found out I'm lactose intolerant

I've never broken a bone

I have no siblings

I absolutely love Summer and the heat but Winter makes everything seem so cosy and cute which I love - so I enjoy both seasons!

I have a jackadoodle called Billy, who is 7 years old (he is the one in the photo)

I write for three publications; The Courier, The Tab and Voice Magazine

Friends, Harry Potter and Disney are my favourites (especially when it comes to merchandise!)

I've been going to Lanzarote every year since I was around 1 year old and for the past three years we've even been going for Christmas

When I was younger I had a huge hoarding problem for notebooks and journals

The Questions and My Answers

1. What are your favourite things about Winter?

My favourite things about Winter is the snow, especially when you are inside all cosy watching TV and you can see the snow settling outside. I also love all the Christmas menus that come out in Winter - you can go get a festive bake at Greggs, Christmas Market food and mince pies!

2. What is your favourite Winter outfit?

My favourite Winter outfit is a really cosy oversized jumper with a woolly scarf, bobble hat and a pair of jeans. Any outfit with a warm jumper is my go-to in Winter and when it gets closer to Christmas I love wearing Christmas t-shirts. Especially my personalised family Christmas t-shirt!

3. What is your favourite Winter food?

Winter food has to be warming! With the freezing cold temperatures outside warm soups and stews are my favourite! And you can't forget all the party food in the supermarkets - from Spring Rolls to Satay Chicken and mini pre-made Canapes. Party food is the highlight to the Winter festive season ❤

4. Favourite Winter drink?

There are so many Winter drinks, especially at Starbucks with their Salted Caramel Brownie Hot Chocolate and Costa's Terry Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate! But my favourite Winter drinks are warm and comforting drinks like mulled wine and hot chocolate with marshmallows and biscuits to dunk it ❣

5. What is your dream way to spend a Winter’s day?

My dream day would be to have a long lie in, then get ready and have a long walk with the dog on a trail. Then get home to have hot chocolate with marshmallows, watching Christmas movies, with cosy socks on and lit scented candles ❄

6. How do you like to do your make-up in the Winter?

I don't really change my make up in the Winter as I tend to stick to the same type of products. I think the only thing I tend to change is the switch to a  richer moisturiser as my skin gets a lot drier with the colder days!

7. What are you hoping Santa brings you?

I love pyjamas for Christmas presents so I hope for either pyjamas or books as I've got back into reading this year and have so many books TBR and there are a few books on my must-buy list so fingers crossed!

8. What are the first three things that remind you of Winter?

When I think of Winter and December the three things that remind me of this season are the dark nights, woolly hats and the severe weather warnings. I go to university in Newcastle University so we get weather warnings in Winter quite a lot ❄

9. What is your favourite Winter song?

I have two, Last Christmas by Wham! and All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey! They are always at the top of the festive playlist which you can check out here.

10. What is your favourite Winter memory?

I have quite a few Winter memories, especially around the time I was in secondary school and we had really bad weather. One memory  I cherish is a time when one year in grammar school we had really bad snowfall so we all got sent home to have a snow day. My friend invited me over to her house and we got all togged up in big coats, gloves, hats and scarfs to go sledging on this huge hill behind her house - which was one of the best snow days I've had. Then in the evening, we watched The Holiday while it was snowing outside and that is when I watched The Holiday for the first time and fell in love with the storyline ❤

11. What is your favourite Winter scent?

In our house, we had a bottle of room spray from Primark called Frozen Cinnamon and it was the best scent for Christmas. I don't know how to describe the fragrance but it's the perfect Winter scent, especially as cinnamon paired with anything like spiced apple is the best smell!

12. Finish this sentence… If I could have one wish this Christmas it would be…

To re-live my childhood memories from Christmas when my entire family would go around my grandparent's house on Boxing Day and see each other and swap presents. Also, to sit down with all my cousins on the step and have our photo taken all together and then eat all my grandma's food doing silly competitions on who can eat the most gherkins ❣

Would You Rather Christmas Tag

Hey Guys!

I've been scrolling through Twitter trying to get some ideas and inspiration for more Christmas related blog posts when I came across the 'Would You Rather Christmas Tag' so after doing the normal 'Christmas Tag' I thought I would give this a go as well. This year I'm so excited for Christmas, more than I have been for the past few years so I'm trying to share this festive spirit as much as a can! Last night my housemates and I cooked a Christmas dinner for ourselves and then played Game of Thrones Monopoly and for that I was way too excited - to the point that I was jumping up and down in our kitchen waiting for the pigs and blankets and stuffed chicken to come out of the oven! I think having our Christmas in our house this year has made it a lot more special compared to last year when we lived in university accommodation :)

I got the inspiration for this 'Would You Rather' from the lovely Lauren from Bournemouth Girl, after reading her Blogmas post I decided this was one I was going to have to try for my own blog. Go check out her version here.

Lets Go!

Giving presents or receiving presents?

I'd say giving presents. I always love buying presents for other people and finding things that I know they would love, especially for my family members and best friend. When it comes to giving them their presents I love seeing them open it and their reactions, it is the best feeling
2. Christmas pudding or trifle?

I don't really like either, they aren't my favourite choices for dessert. But out of the two I'd probably choose Christmas pudding as I don't mind it if it's with custard. On it's own it really doesn't taste that appealing. For our Christmas dessert yesterday my housemates created their own Christmas chocolate brownie mix with marshmallows and oreos, it tasted so good!
3. “Home Alone” or “Christmas Carol”?

I would say 'Home Alone' as its such a funny Christmas movie! I do like the story of the 'Christmas Carol' but I'd choose 'Home Alone' as I'd prefer something funny. They are both classic Christmas movies though :)
4. Spend Christmas abroad or stay at home?

I already spend my Christmas abroad with my parents, auntie, uncle and two cousins so I guess I'd choose abroad as that is our new tradition as a family. The holidays we have had away have been so relaxed and fun! We have created so many memories and it is such a nice break for all of us. There are a few things I miss about being home for Christmas but that is because there are a lot of Christmas memories in my family home too. But I would still choose to go abroad, it's special!
5. One expensive present or several not so expensive presents?

I do love the little presents I receive, for example this year we did secret Santa at my uni home with a budget of £5 and I received an adorable Santa mug with chocolates and sweets all inside which I loved! I've been wanting a Christmas themed mug for my uni home as I have one at my parents house as well and after hearing me talk about it my secret Santa went and got me one for my present :) It is something small and thoughtful and to me these presents are my favourite

My Questions

1. 'Last Christmas' By Wham or 'All I Want For Christmas is You' by Mariah Carey?
2. Christmas games or Christmas movies?
3. Pigs in blankets or turkey?
4. Christmas pyjamas or Christmas jumpers?
5. Mince pies or cheese and crackers?

The Christmas Tag

Hey Guys!

On Twitter I saw that @onceupunatime_ has done a Christmas tag to get in the Christmas spirit and kick off day one of Blogmas so I became inspired and decided to do the tag as well. I'm so ready for Christmas this year and actually can't wait to spend Christmas with my family, so nothing better than starting December with a Christmas tag ðŸ’œ

I also have a new blog post schedule for the month of December. I was going to attempt doing Blogmas this year but I don't have enough content and Christmas themed ideas so I thought I'd upload content every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 6pm instead.

1. What’s your favourite Christmas Movie?

This is a hard question as I love so many Christmas movies! There is The Grinch, Elf, The Muppet Christmas Carol and The Polar Express, but my favourite is probably Elf as its the perfect jolly Christmas movie that you can put on whenever and no matter how many times you watch it the charm never goes!
2. Where do you usually spend Christmas?

A few years ago I would have spent Christmas at home with my mum and dad having a traditional Christmas dinner and then Boxing Day would have been spent with the rest of my extended family. But for the past three years myself, my mum, dad, uncle, auntie and two cousins have travelled to Lanzarote to spend our Christmas somewhere different, and now that is our new tradition :)
3. What’s the best present you have ever received?

That's a hard question as I've always been so spoilt when it comes to Christmas presents. But the best present I've ever received would have to be when I was younger and my parents would buy me Polly Pocket. They were my favourite toys growing up and my collection could have been a small toys shop. One year they brought me the Polly Pocket Cruise Ship and it was honestly the best present ever! It came with deck chairs and three dolls, it was honestly the best! Especially as I was obsessed with it my entire childhood ðŸ’•
4. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

We have a fake Christmas tree that we have used since I was young and it's perfect! We have never really gone for a real tree as my mum probably doesn't want to clean up after all the needles when they drop, and we have pets, specifically ones that like to climb trees!
5. What’s your favourite Christmas memory?
I have two favourite Christmas memories, one from my childhood and another from my second Christmas in Lanzarote.

My favourite childhood memory was when on Christmas Eve my dad and I put out carrots on the lawn for the reindeer, then put our 'STOP! Santa' sign outside the front porch so that Santa would know where to stop to give us our presents. Then we put a little glass of dry sherry and a mince pie on our little coffee table next to the Christmas Tree so that Santa could have a little snack before setting off to the next house. The next day when I woke my parents up (very early of course) I went down stairs and into the living room to find loads of snow on the living room floor and big foot prints leading from the fireplace to the tree, and then loads of presents under the tree. To me that was my favourite memory as a child as it was so magical and I was so excited! The fact my mum and dad went to so much effort to put down fake snow and put down foot prints makes me very grateful for my childhood!

My favourite Christmas memory in Lanzarote was last year. Unfortunately for my Christmas holiday last year I was recovering from a bad cold/flu and was still pretty sick so even though it was relatively warm in Lanzarote I was freezing and constantly had to be wrapped up in a blanket to keep me warm. But, besides the fact I was feeling pretty poorly I had an amazing time. My favourite part was that every night we would all snuggle up on the sofa and watch loads of films all together. I just loved being cosy in my blanket next to my favourite people watching our favourite films and it made me very grateful for the people I have around me.
6. What’s your favourite Christmas food?
All of it! But my favourites are the pigs in blankets, roast carrots, stuffing and the gravy! It all just tastes so good and the fact I'm with my family having a great fun filled day makes everything so much better! My dad cooks our Christmas dinner and even though we are in the Canary Islands we are able to get everything; turkey, brussel sprouts, pigs in blankets, the works.
7. One thing you really want for Christmas?

Because I go away for Christmas that is a big enough present for me, as it is truly a treat being taken away on holiday. But if I was to ask for something that I really wanted it would be an INSTAX mini 9 instant camera, as I love being able to take a photo and have it printed there and then. I've used my friend's Polaroid camera quite a few times here at uni and they are great for silly instant pictures! I really want one so that when I'm on holiday and spending Christmas with my family I can capture memories in the moment. Then with all the printed pictures I can create a scrapbook and a display in my room  ðŸ’™
8. Do you have special pyjamas just for Christmas?
Of course! A few years ago when shopping with my mum in Tesco I persuaded her to buy me these Christmas themed pyjamas bottoms with candy canes, holly, and Christmas sayings on and then we picked up some Christmas socks with Santa, Christmas pudding and hollies on :) They are so cute! I might have to invest in some more this year - Primark are doing some really cute sets!
9. What’s your favourite Christmas song?

'Last Christmas' by WHAM! and 'All I Want For Christmas is You' by Mariah Carey, they are some classic Christmas tunes! I love loads of other Christmas songs too but these are the original classics that I always listen to on repeat haha!
10. Do you have any Christmas traditions?

We now have a new tradition where we go to Lanzarote every year for Christmas. So we will fly out a few days before Christmas Day and then spend a week in the sun, sipping cava by the pool. It is a holiday for my family where we can just relax. Our old Christmas tradition has changed since the children have grown up and my grandparents passed away so, we decided to make a new tradition, which is a Christmas holiday abroad :)

The Love-Hate Tag

Hey guys!

So recently I got nominated by Katt and Mariza to do the love/hate tag, you should check out both their blogs as they are amazing! The rules are: 'once you are nominated by another blogger, you must state 10 things you love and 10 things you hate on your blog. In order to complete the tag, in turn you must also nominate 10 bloggers to participate and do the same.'

10 Things I Love

1. Family- My family mean the world to me. I have a very close family, so close that I would call my cousins my siblings. We see each other weekly and I grew up daily with my family, so I believe that they have shaped me as a person and has helped me grow to be the character I am.
2. Friends- My friends are the family I have chosen. What I love about my friends is how supportive they are, we have the type of relationship where we bash on each other but we love each other really, I'll be weird but they don't see me any differently. My friends help me escape if I'm having a hard time and I love them for it!
3. Swimming- At school I always hated sport and didn't really excel in any sports clubs, and so to keep fit I go swimming, as it is a source of exercise I find relaxing and enjoyable, where as if I went to the gym I would see it as a chore.
4. Holidays- Everyone loves a vacation and a break from their every day lives, but I don't just see a holiday or as a break from my every day life I see it as an adventure where I can explore somewhere I've never been before and find out new things.
5. London- I seriously wished I lived in London, I visited a lot in the past year and every time I grew to love it more and more. Its not just because its the capital and it has so many shops etc. I love London because it has so much life, it has so much diversity and London feels like home to me :)
6. Meeting new people- I love meeting new people, I constantly meet new people at work and I find it so interesting, I love finding out different people's stories and experiences. Meeting different people who are from different countries I find even more interesting as they may have such different ways of life and different cultures which I like to explore :)
7. Travelling- I would love to travel more in the future, the excitement of travelling, having an adventure and exploring different towns, villages, cities and seeing how different people live is amazing. I would love to travel to East Asia and see places like Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand and then more of Europe like Italy, Amsterdam. I find exploring countries different to England so interesting and seeing different cultures opens my mind even more to difference and change.
8. Walking- One thing I love about living in the countryside near the Peak District and Dove dale is that there is so much beautiful scenery and so many places to go on a walk, when its good weather I love to go on walks down the Tissington Trail and make the most of the weather.
9. Blogging - I love having a blog where I can have my own space where I share my own opinions, thoughts, experiences and to be able to discuss what ever I want to. I love writing and so blogging has allowed me to write as much as I want to and has enabled me to meet other people with the same interests :)
10. Summer- I'm not a Winter person at all, I hate the cold, I hate snow and I hate ice. The only thing I like about Winter is Christmas and getting to wear woolly jumpers, big coats and woolly hats. But other than that I'm totally a summer person, I love the happy atmosphere surrounded by summer and I love not having to carry around any coats and can rely on the weather to keep me warm.

10 Things I Hate

1. Bullying- The thing I hate the most is bullying, for someone to feel so bad about themselves and have some one either physically or emotionally abuse them is what I hate the most. Nobody should be physically or emotionally abused and nobody should be bullied because they look different or act different!
2. People who judge others- Nobody should be given a label and nobody should stereotype someone just because of the way they look or the way they act. Everyone is an individual and can act and be who ever they want to be, so nobody has the right to label somebody. I hate labels and how people judge others by giving them a label. It is wrong and should stop!
3. Negativity- I hate it when people are negative, no matter how bad the situation there is always something to be grateful for and something positive. Whenever something bad happens I always try and look at it positively and what things I should be grateful for in my life, therefore when people are constantly negative I can't stand it as it puts me in a bad mood.
4. Coffee- I'm definitely a tea lover! Every time I've tried coffee I've hated it, whether its black coffee, a latte, a cappuccino, espresso anything with coffee in it I hate. There is something about the taste that I can't stand and even the smell puts me off!
5. War- Whether it affects me or not I hate war and conflict, of course not everyone is going to agree on the same things and everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I understand that war can sometimes just happen but I hate the thought of blood shed and innocent people losing their lives.
6. Lies- I hate it when people aren't honest with me, I can understand little white lies and lies that aren't harmful but when people lie to make themselves look better, or lie about something they have done that was wrong and could hurt somebody than I hate it and I lose trust in that person.
7. Early mornings- I'm not a morning person at all, I can stay up late and be really productive which is why I do most of my school work and blogging at night, I can be up till 3am writing and having the motivation to do my work. But I do not have the motivation to get up in the mornings and get ready for school. The thought of having to get up at 7am every morning just depresses me and I hate it hahaha :p
8. Ulcers- I find ulcers so painful, I used to get ulcers all the time when I had braces and they always took forever to heal and so whenever I ate or had a drink it would be so painful, luckily I don't get them so much now :)
9. Being ill- Everyone hates being ill, but being ill makes me feel so useless and helpless, when your ill it takes all the energy out of you and doing a simple task takes so much longer than usual which I really hate! When I'm ill everything I would usually do takes me much longer and then its so tiring afterwards. I wish I could be healthy all the time :)
10. Being late- I always get this really anxious feeling when I'm running late, even if I'm late to something that isn't even that important I feel really bad and annoyed that I'm so late and that I didn't give myself enough time hahaha :p

I hope you enjoyed finding out more about me and if you have any questions don't hesitate to comment below :)

I Nominate:

Becky
Lisa
Jasmine
Lisa Watson
Kimberly
Tilly
Abigail
Pao Wong
Lisa
Amy

See you soon lovelies
