Recent Movies I've Been Obsessing Over | Part 1

Hey Guys!

While I've been home from university I've been catching up on a lot of TV shows and movies I didn't have chance to watch while I was studying, so nearly every week I've been getting through a decent list of movies! I'm more into watching TV shows than movies as they are shorter and I'm not forced to concentrate as long haha but recently I've been getting more into movies :P I made the post into two different parts as otherwise the post would become too long and boring, so I split it into part one and two so it isn't dragged out as much, as you can tell from part one there are a few Disney movies

 Let's Go!

Beauty & The Beast (2017)

I've always loved Disney movies, I mean who doesn't! They are classic movies for most people in my generation, we were brought up on most Disney movies and even at the age of 19 I'm still in love with the concepts that Walt Disney created!  So, when Disney revealed that they were going to begin adapting our childhood favourites into live action movies I must admit I was worried and sceptical. I was conscience that they might ruin the classic version and try and make it into something it isn't but I had a little faith as at the end of the day it is still the Disney company creating these movies! So, when the movie came out I didn't get the chance to see it in the cinema as I was really busy and by the time I had the opportunity to go to the cinema everyone had already been and seen it. Then, finally when I came back to my family home I had the chance to see it... and it was amazing! Like hands down fantastic! It was just as magical and enchanting as the original Beauty & The Beast movie but with even more surprise. The fact they were able to add some scenes that weren't in the original didn't ruin anything for me and gave more light to the story.

I was also really sceptical about the fact Emma Watson was going to play Belle. For me Emma Watson will always be Hermoine Granger to me, and I know I shouldn't just link her to one role she has played as she will play many more great roles but she was so exceptional in the Harry Potter series of films that she will always remind me of her character! But when I watched her in Beauty & The Beast she didn't remind me once of Hermoine and I think that must be because of the character difference and setting of the film. It isn't a film you can compare to Harry Potter as they are very different movies. I was surprised and relieved at how well Emma Watson played Belle, and her singing was something else! Who knew she could sing that well :)

Overall, I loved the movie! Loved it. Of course the original will always be my favourite because I grew up watching it but, the new one has a lot of love from me and is one that I could happily watch over and over

Moana

My friend and flatmate Jess went to see Moana back when it came out last year and raved about how good it was, so finally it got released on SKY and I was able to watch it! With anything Disney I'll 9/10 have to see it as none of the movies they have produced have disappointed me so far! And Moana hasn't let me down either. What I love about this film is that it has absolutely nothing to do with a love relationship between the two protagonists, though for a second I did think maybe Maui and Moana would become romantic in some way but they didn't and I'm glad! Don't get me wrong I love a classic princess and prince love story especially Disney's versions but I'm glad this was purely about Moana and her heritage :) It is such a feel good film and its both funny, sad and enchanting in every way that Disney is

The soundtrack for this movie as well is brilliant! I have it on my iPhone so whenever I need to get work done or a sing along the movie's songs are my go to! They are just so fun and uplift your mood :)

If your a Disney lover or just love feel good movies Moana is definetley one of them! Like Beauty & The Beast I can watch it whenever!

The Jungle Book (2016)

I actually never liked the original 'Jungle Book' when it was released back in my childhood. I watched it a few times but I never really liked the concept or any characters except Baloo, so originally when the new live action 'Jungle Book' came out I wasn't bothered about seeing it at all, even when people would rave about it I just passed it off as I film I didn't really like and wasn't interested in. However, while I had nothing to do this summer I was scrolling through SKY and saw that 'The Jungle Book' had been put into Sky Premiere so having nothing else to do I thought I'd watch it and see what the hype was all about!

And...it is actually an incredible film! I cried so much towards the end and considering it is live action they did so well with the CGI for the animals and those characters that couldn't be played by an actor!

They gave it such a different perspective and made it so much more adventurous that the original animated version! The characters like Baloo, Mowgli and Bagheera are so loving and fun it makes the movie so cute and fun! Its a feel good family film but it does have some sad elements, especially related to the family of wolves that brought Mowgli up

If you didn't like the original animated version like I didn't I'm positive you will like the live action version! Seeing a different aspect to the film is so enchanting!

King Arthur: Legend of The Sword

When it was advertised for the cinema I actually really wanted to go and see it but then all my assignments at university needed completing and handing in so I never got the opportunity or the money to be honest, so since I came home for summer I've had plenty of spare time and in the evenings I have nothing else to do so the choice is to either watch movies, TV or read. Therefore, I chose to watch 'King Arthur one of the nights and damn it was so action packed and thrilling! There is so much going on and fighting it doesn't have chance to get boring!

The actor Charlie Hunnam reminds me a lot of Tom Hardy for some reason, whether it is the appearance or because the character has similar traits to those of the characters Tom Hardy has played but he played Arthur so well and I couldn't imagine anybody else playing the character!

The film is quite a long film, hitting the two hours mark, but it has to be that long to fit in all the good action packed scenes! I actually thought it would be a very realistic historical movie purely based on methods of fighting and combat but it also has witchcraft and spiritual methods as well, so it has a mix of everything really! It has a great cast list and Jude Law is a great villain for the movie, a role I'd never expect to see him in!

Overall, it is a great movie and I think some of the critics were a bit too harsh on the reviews of the movie! Especially on David Beckham's scene, I thought he did very well for his first acting role considering it isn't something he has done before and it wasn't a long scene either, so I think people were just being a bit too harsh because it isn't related to football!

What is your favourite movie you have seen this summer? Let me know in the comments below!

Part 2 will be out next week!

See you on Wednesday my lovelies!

My Night Time Summer Skincare Routine | 2017

Hey Guys!

Over the past couple of months I have switched up my night time skin care routine
a bit as I began to notice my skin gradually getting dry around my eyebrows and cheeks. I had also collected a few more products to give a try so I worked them into my skin care routine to see if they would work with the condition of my skin.

Lets get started!

#1 Micellar Water

I've used Garnier's micellar water products before so I knew they would work out for me when removing my make up, especially stubborn products like mascara and eyeliner. I love that it is so pure and basic but is perfect at removing all the impurities, oil and make up I've worn all day. It is definetley a go to product! I even buy the cute little travel version when I go on holiday as its just so convenient!

Sometimes if I just need to focus a little more on the removal of my eye make up because my eye shadow or eyeliner is a little stubborn I use the Nivea Daily Essentials Extra Gentle Make Up Remover. But the only thing I don't particularly like with this make up remover is that sometimes it stings and makes my eyes really sore, which doesn't seem right if it is suppose to be a product focusing on your eye area and states that it is 'extra gentle'. It isn't every time but it has happened to catch me out and basically blind me for a few seconds! But it works when I need it to so I'll continue to use it haha!

#2 Cleaner/ Scrub

In the evening I use my Simple Foam Cleanser as its great at removing the rest of my make up that was missed in the previous step. It is really gentle and soft, which is perfect as I tend not to use a really harsh scrub before applying a detox face mask and its been doing great wonders for my skin. Since using this product my skin has started to get much softer and brighter. When I wake up in the morning my skin isn't as patchy and I don't have any red inflammation which I used to experience when using other face scrubs and cleansers. At the moment I'm trying to be more delicate with my skin and treat it better so a gentle cleanser is always a good product to turn to

#3 Face Mask

I've mentioned this face mask a few times now on my blog and it is still an amazing product! I don't use it every time I cleanse my face, only three times a week as using it every time would stress my skin out a bit too much and I don't want to use it excessively. As you might be able to tell I've finished all of it and will need to look for another face mask to use next, but I highly recommend the Pure Clay Purity Mask for it has helped clear my acne prone areas like my cheeks and jaw line. It does run out quite quickly though considering you are suppose to use it three times a week!

#4 Serum/ Treatment Oil

I've been using this Serum for the longest time and I've always loved the results so I've never bothered trying anything new or a different brand. I probably will in the future when I'm in the experimenting mood but at the moment I'm happy with what it does for me! I like using a serum as it retains more moisture which is great for my dry skin. And it has anti-wrinkle remedies in it, and I know I'm only 19 but prevention is key and I have terrible terrible frown lines on my forehead so anything that will help reduce those I try haha!

#5 Night Cream

I've used this night cream for a while now and it is quite a thick night cream which some people aren't a fan of as it takes a lot longer to soak in and be absorbed by the skin, but for the evening I tend to put on a thicker cream so that my skin can absorb a greater amount of moisture while I sleep. They do say that between 10pm and 2am your skin is at its best healing point and so that is the time you should be applying products to be absorbed and getting a good night sleep. I'm not sure how true it is but I don't mind going to sleep a bit earlier now that I actually have things to do this summer :)

#6 Eye Cream

This is one of the new products I had picked up and wanted to try! I have been using a few Lacura products for a while now, especially their serum. So, considering  this is a product from the same range I thought I'd see if it worked for me. So, after incorporating it into my skincare routine for around two weeks now I've began to really like it. It is a gel so it has a very sticky texture but after application give it about two minutes and it is fully absorbed and doesn't leave a sticky residue around the eye. You only need a really small amount as well so this small tub should last me a while!

When it is officially Autumn I'll probably end up switching my skincare routine up again as my skin will probably get a lot of dry patches so I'll have to tailor what products I use to deal with that problem! Is anybody else looking forward to Autumn already?

What is your go to product when you get really dry patches on your skin? Let me know in the comments below!

See you tomorrow lovelies!

Pukka Herbs | Review

Hey Guys!

I'm a huge fan of drinking green tea in the morning and never miss a day, so when I got given Pukka samples I was keen to try them out and see if they are as great as they claim! I've never tried Pukka before but I do know they are quite a trusted brand and that they have a mission to inspire change and reduce their carbon foot print, while producing great products!

I got given four packets and in each pack there were two tea bags to use. So I could try each tea twice and have a better verdict before choosing my favourite

First of all I loved the packaging! It's much more unique and inviting than most natural tea products I've used and I'm very big on packaging. Packaging could literally encourage me to buy anything even if it was the most pointless thing like floss. So bonus points for the design and the information it gives you as well, like the pronunciation and meaning, what the individual tea is supposed to achieve and all the ingredients and important facts about the production of their range.

On their website they claim its also organic, vegetarian, wheat free, dairy free, nut free, caffeine free, vegan, gluten free, soya free and kosher so its great for anybody on any sort of diet or religious belief. Whether your vegan, allergic to nuts or dairy! So they are fit for all parts of the market. I would happily recommend them to anybody :)

The one thing I don't like, and this is with most herb type products, is that towards the end of the drink there are bits from the teabag that have rested at the bottom and they are really bitter if you end up drinking them. So I do have to leave some when I've finished. They have quite a strong scent as well so they can be a little overpowering if you aren't big on strong scents of herbs!

Pukka Detox - a clean fusion of organic aniseed, fennel and cardamon

Pukka Detox with Lemon - A lemony spring of organic aniseed, fennel and cardamom

Pukka Ginseng Matcha Green - Organic whole leaf green tea with a zip of red ginseng ad pure green matcha

Pukka Cleanse - A radiant blend of organic nettle, fennel and peppermint

The price isn't as expensive as I thought it would be either. One box is £2.49 plus postage and package which isn't too bad. It is quite affordable. When I first saw the brand I thought it would be a very expensive product, especially for myself who is a student on a low income but its not bad! In each box you get 20 sachets.

Out of all the samples my favourite was Ginseng Matcha Green! It was a range of tea I hadn't tried before and at first I wasn't particularly sure I would like it as I'm not big on matcha but it was the best! If I was to choose one of the herb teas to buy a full box it would be this type.

If you are a big green tea drinker like myself and want something different to try that isn't you average supermarket green tea then check Pukka out. They do a huge range and you can send for samples choosing from 10 different blends to try out
