#Throwback | Mother's Day

Hey Guys!

Seeing as it's Mother's Day here in the UK and I'm away in Brussels travelling I wanted to create a throwback post and to thank the bestest mum in the world!

My mum isn't just the woman who brought me up for 19 years and grew me into the person I am today she is my best friend! Even though I'm around 177km away at university in Newcastle I try and call her at least once a day even if it's to have the most random conversation :)

#Throwback to when I was only a few months old back in 1998! I cant believe this was around 19 years ago  Thank you mum for loving me unconditionally and being so strong as a new mum!

No matter what mistakes I make she has always supported me and she always sees the best in me! Instead of being her mini me she is the small one haha

I'm exceptionally close with both my parents and was always with my parents or grandparents as a child and they are the reason I'm where I am today. I couldn't ask for a better best friend and mother  I can see a lot of myself in my mum and I definitely have parts of her personality and what is hard about living so far away is that we don't get to joke around as much as we used to when I was living back home and I miss her so much when I'm up here in the North! I can't wait to be reunited with her on Tuesday and spend Easter with her :) I hope you all spend Mother's Day with the special people in your life and spread the love!

'A mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend'

'A mother understands what a child does not say'

'My mum was my role model before I even knew what that word was'

Thank you for being my mum! I hope that in the future I can be a supportive and eternally loving mother just like you have been to me because your are perfect in my eyes! I love you

See you on Wednesday my lovelies!

What's In My Carry On Bag | Brussels 2017

Hey Guys!

As I'll be travelling to Brussels on Saturday I wanted to share with you all what I've decided to pack for my trip. As I'm only there for 4 days we are only taking carry on luggage, so I'll be carrying everything in one or two bags. I hope I'll be able to fit it all in my backpack!

Clothing

x4 Underwear
x3 Socks
x1 Jeans
x1 Leggings
x1 Black Skirt
x2 Pair of Shoes
x1 Pair of PJs
x2 T-Shirts
x1 Evening Top
x1 Pullover

I'm only going for 4 days, so I don't want to pack too much stuff but we are doing a lot of activities and a few of them are clubbing and going on pub/food crawls, so I want to have at least one outfit to be able to change in to for the evening! For shoes I can wear my Nike Roshe pair in the day and then just have a spare pair of flat shoes for the evening.

Toiletries/ Cosmetics

Shampoo
Shower Gel
Razor
Face Wash
Tooth Brush
Toothpaste
Make Up
Facial Wipes
Moisturiser
Serum/ Oil
Deodorant
Perfume/ Body Spray

Luckily I have mini travel sized toiletries so that they will all fit in my carry out bag and will follow the rule of liquids under 100ml :) I'm hoping I don't take too many liquids and that they don't leak in my bag. Fingers crossed! As long as I can fit in the essential items :)

Medicine

Paracetamol/ Iburprofen
Plasters

For those emergency situations where you get a blister on your ankle or a random headache while exploring. Having these in my bag will come very handy in case anyone else needs a painkiller or plaster :)

Money/ Card

Purse
Debit Card
Travel Money/ Euros

I'll of course need money to get around Brussels and also need to be able to eat, so I headed to Debenhams to the Travel Money counter and got my money converted to Euros so that I would have enough and I'll have my debit card in case I need to withdrawn any money while I'm there as well. Hopefully, I won't need to spend a lot of money while I'm there as a lot of the touristy locations we are going to are already pre-paid for

Important Documents

Passport/ Passport Cover
ID/ Driving Licence
Boarding Passes and flight information

I won't even be able to get on the plane if I don't have my passport and boarding pass, so it is pretty essential that I pack these in my carry on bag! I'll also need my ID for when we are out clubbing and anytime I need my age checked and all my flight information so I know what I'm doing and to check I'm getting on the right flight haha!

Others

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban
Notebook
Bridge Camera | Panasonic Lumix
Headphones
iPhone Charger
iPhone
Tablet
Tablet Charger
Glasses
Sunglasses
Umbrella
Jewellery

These are all the other items I'll be packing for my trip! I hope that all these items won't weigh down my luggage too much that I'll have to leave some stuff behind! Most of the items I'm taking are essential but luckily on RyanAir you are allowed 10KG and a second bag if necessary so I should be okay for Saturday :)

I hope I don't forget anything too! That will be a nightmare if I have to buy anything in Brussels because I  left it behind in Newcastle!

On Saturday we are leaving Newcastle around 2:20am which is so early! Hopefully the journey to Manchester Airport won't be too long :) If any of you guys are travelling for a city break anytime soon and need ideas of what to pack I hope this will be able to help you out   If you think I have missed anything out let me know in the comments below!

Seeing as I'll be away Saturday till Tuesday evening I have written a post in advance for Sunday and will schedule it to be uploaded for the usual time!

I'll see you when I'm back my lovelies!

Travel Essentials | Brussels 2017

Hey Guys!

On Saturday I'll  be flying out to Brussels for a trip with the Media Society, so I thought I would share my travel essentials with you all   The flight is only around one hour and 25 minutes so I won't need a lot of essentials for the flight and seeing as I'm only in Brussels for 4 days I'll only need a few items! Carry on reading to find out what travel essentials I'll be taking with me :)

Passport & Passport Holder

Of course the most important thing I'll need to travel is my passport and passport holder. Without my passport I won't even be getting on the plane haha! My passport holder is from Paperchase and helps keep my passport safe and stops it from getting damaged while it is sat in my bag. I love this passport holder as its colourful and bright, so when I'm looking in my bag for it I can instantly recognise it and won't lose it easily in my bag, which is a bonus!

Glasses

My eye sight has been getting so bad recently to the point I'm having to wear them all the time and I can't really read much without them, so for travelling and exploring around Brussels I think it is pretty essential that I take them with me. I know if I don't take them I'll really need them, so it's best I have them on me in case :)

Camera | Panasonic Lumix DMC- LZ20

I've never been to Brussels before and seeing as we are exploring the city a lot I think it is essential to take my camera with me to get some good shots and also get pictures for my blog to share with you guys! I love travelling and taking great photos to look back on, it is one of my favourite things! Hopefully its not too big to fit in my carry on bag :)

Sunglasses

I don't actually know if its going to be sunny in Brussels while we are there but just in case I thought I would pack a pair, you never know when there could be a random sunny day and I'd rather be prepared than not at all :) These sunglasses are only the cheap ones from Primark and aren't that comfortable but I'd rather take these ones in case I end up losing them or breaking them haha.

Vaseline

When flying I get really dry lips and in general my lips tend to peel quite a lot, so by taking Vaseline with me I'll be able to reduce the chance of getting chapped lips and them cracking. It's also an essential item in my make up routine so it works for both travelling and getting ready!

Book | Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

On the plane and when we have spare time in the hostel I'll probably spend some time reading the book I've been enjoying recently! I've read the first two Harry Potter books so I've now moved on to the third one. Seeing as I want to get through the Harry Potter collection taking it away with me to read in my spare time is a good idea :) If you haven't read the Harry Potter books yet I recommend you do, they are so good!

Notebook | Paperchase

By best friend Sam brought me a really cute notebook from Paperchase for my birthday and I've fallen in love with the colours and pattern  In this notebook I don't just wrote notes in here I use it to reflect on what I'm grateful for and any quotes that I like to live by and want to read to keep me going. Its a reflection of positivity! So, I'd like to take it to Brussels so that I can reflect on the trip and write down the moments of the trip I loved! I love writing passages like these because later on I can see what I was loving at the time and if I feel down I can pick myself back up again

What are your travel essentials when you are travelling? Let me know in the comments below ♡

On Wednesday I'll be sharing another travelling post so look out for that!

See you on Wednesday my lovelies!

Doing Something Out Of Your Comfort Zone | 2017 Goals

Hey Guys!

At the beginning of the year I wrote down a list of goals I wanted to achieve by the end of the year, things that can be measurable, not too hard to achieve and will develop myself and hopefully keep me motivated. One of those goals was to go out and do more things out of my comfort zone and today I did that. At Newcastle University it is 'One World Week' so they are holding events to celebrate world language and culture on our campus and my friend saw that they were doing language taster classes and Korean was one of them. My friend is Korean herself and knowing that I'm also interested in the language she encouraged me to attend the taster session as a beginner.

Before I came to university I would never have gone to anything like this because I always get uncomfortable and scared going into a situation where I don't no anybody and not knowing what to expect, but since moving to uni I have become more comfortable doing something that I normally wouldn't have tried. So, I decided to go and attend the language class and it was actually a great idea! Obviously learning a new language is hard, but meeting new people and having a new challenge was refreshing!

Recently, I've been in a bit of a low mood and not very motivated, so doing something different and actually enjoying it has motivated me again to get work done and be productive!

If you are dying to do something new and different but your scared because you have never done anything like it before and its unfamiliar don't be scared! Just do it and make the most of the opportunities we are given   Now that I've done something I would have never done before there will be other opportunities I will be able to undertake without being so nervous!

You can do it!

'A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown' - Denis Waitley

'Life begins at the end of your comfort zone' - Neale Donald Walsch

'Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new!' -Brian Tracy

What is something you want to do, but too scared to actually go? Let me know in the comments below!

See you on Sunday my lovelies!

My Night Time Cleansing Routine

Hey Guys!

My night time cleansing routine changes all the time as I'm always trying to find the right products to use for my skin type and find products that will work for my routine. So here is my most recent night time cleansing routine

Step 1: Wipes

The first thing I do when I start my routine is remove all the make up off my face. By using a wipe I try and get the majority of my make up off, especially my eye make up. I like to use a wipe as I only have to use one to get the majority of my make up off and therefore won't have to use too much micellar water to cleanse the rest of my face.

Step 2: Micellar Cleansing Water

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is great for clearing up and lifting the rest of my make up from around my eyes, nose and hair line. I try to use only a small amount of product so that I don't waste any (seeing as I'm a poor student). After using micellar water my face is fully clear and I can move on to the next step of my cleaning routine.

Step 3: Face Wash

What is great about this face scrub is that there are three steps. So, you can either use it as a normal everyday face wash, or a face scrub or even a face mask if you leave it on for more than 5 minutes. I tend to just use it as a face scrub so that I can get rid of all the dead skin around my nose, chin and help maintain the amount of oil around my T-Zone. This face wash is great after wearing make up because if the wipes or micellar cleansing water didn't get all my make up off this face wash will!

Step 4: Face Mask

Sometimes I skip this step as I don't like to use a face mask every night, so I'd say I do around 2-3 face masks a week. I choose between the Mint Julep Masque and Innisfree Capsule Recipe face masks. All these face masks are great at reviving the skin and deeply cleansing my pores so no oil and dirt is left behind. They are also great for making my skin look and feel smoother and brighter! My skin can look very dull and lifeless after wearing make up all day so I like to treat it by deep cleansing

Step 5: Serum

After doing step 3 and 4 I move on to choose a serum. I have multiple different serums that have different properties to help my skin. My favourite serum helps lock in the moisture and  maintain elasticity in my skin. Every night I'll use a different serum from my collection and because they are in cute little bottles/ tubes I can get a few uses from one bottle in one week.

Step 6: Oil/ Gel

I also sometimes skip this step as well depending on whether I feel like my skin needs it or not. Both the oil and gel are great for locking all the moisture in and while I'm sleeping absorbs into my skin so that my skin is super smooth and a good base for my make up the next morning. The problem with this oil is that I do sometimes use too much and it then takes forever to absorb into my skin and leaves marks on my pillowcase which frustrates me!

Step 7: Moisturiser

I like to use a thick moisturiser as one of my last steps in my cleansing routine, so that I can lock in everything I just did previously to this step and so that I don't loose any of the goodness my skin is absorbing from these products! Sometimes I'm really bad at remembering to moisturise as I can be so lazy a lot of the time but when I do remember my skin looks great the next morning!

Step 8: Lip Balm

Just before I go to sleep I like to put on lip balm so that my lips don't go dry or chapped while I sleep. I always seem to wake up in the morning with dry cracked lips which isn't pleasant when I'm trying to put on any type of lip products when doing my make up. So, just before I sleep I like to make sure my lips are moisturised for the next day! It's a step I recommend to everyone.

What is the most important step in your night time cleansing routine?

See you on Wednesday my lovelies!

What I Learn't From Semester One | Newcastle Uni

Hey Guys!

Since I've been at uni for 5 and a half months now and already completed semester one I thought I would share with you what I have learnt from the first term and discuss any tips I have for anybody starting uni in September or going into their second year like me

1. Don't worry about writing down everything your lecturer says and all the information on the PowerPoint because you will be able to go back and look at them again. At Newcastle we have re-cap, so you can listen over your lectures in case you missed anything important. I have used re-cap when writing essays and I wanted to make sure I got everything my lecture said, to ensure I covered everything I needed to.

2. Don't worry about reading absolutely everything on your reading list, as long as you read the key readings you do not need to stay up till 3am finishing everything on the list. Also, don't worry about writing everything you think is important, you can go back to the reading again. I make sure to write down the key pages where important quotes are so when I need to I can go back and will know where they are.

3. Whenever anybody says that your first year at uni is easy and it doesn't count they are lying! It is not easy at all and will be hard. It isn't as hard as A2 but it isn't a ride in the park. You still have to work hard and you still have to put a lot of effort into your exams and essays. However, saying that you can still have a lot of fun and go out way more than second and third year students, as long as you don't leave everything till the last minute!

4. Just go with it! Go with the flow and don't worry too much. Have fun and talk and socialise with as many people as possible :)

5. Don't be afraid to do something out of your comfort zone and don't be afraid to talk to new people. Meeting new people is the best!

6. The library will be your best friend for both work and any other materials you might need. I love the library and the facilities we have here in Newcastle are amazing! I can concentrate at home but if you really want to get a lot of work done and not get distracted go to the library and put your phone away. You will get so much more done than you think :)

7. Give yourself plenty of time to complete your essays and assignments, it isn't something you can do overnight or a few days before like in sixth-form or college. Give yourself at least two weeks!

8. Join a variety of societies so you can meet more people who have similar interests and passions as you! I regret not joining more societies when I had the opportunity.

What is something you have learnt since being at university? Let me know in the comments below

See you on Sunday my lovelies!

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Miracle Cleansing Oil | Review

Hey Guys!

I've been trying this product out for ages, and by ages I mean months! I didn't want to review it after just a couple of uses. I wanted to have used it long enough to see any changes or anything specifically great about this type of make up remover

L'Oreal Skin Perfection Miracle Cleansing Oil | Face, Eyes and Lips

Whenever I've used make up remover before its either been wipes or micellar water, so I've never used an oil based product before. For ages I'd seen all over YouTube and on other beauty blogs new make up removers with an oil base and everyone praising how well they lift make up and dirt from the skin. After hearing all these great things I wanted to give it a try for myself :)

Normally I don't like oil based products because they get everywhere, always leave marks on clothing and it is so hard to wash off with just water, but this is different. I really like how well this make up remover works with my skin and has actually reduced the excess oil I get around my nose.

When first using it I did use a bit too much as I was using way more than I needed, it went everywhere and was dripping off my chin haha :p but then second time round I didn't go over board and it worked so well. It removed all of my eyebrow make up, all of my mascara, eyeliner and all the foundation off my face, so that once I washed all the oil off there was only small traces left of my make up on my face. Areas around the nose and hairline so by going in after with a face cleanser or face scrub I could get the rest of the make up traces and it left my face looking completely clear.

I loved how it just lifted off all my make up without having to scrub my face or rub at my eyes to remove my eye make up, it was gentle and didn't strip the moisture from my face like some make up removers do. It says on the bottle 2-3 drops but I didn't even need that much, at the most I would use two drops and that would be enough to lift everything off my face :)

One thing I did notice after using it for a while is that you do seem to run out of the product quite quickly even though I've only been using 1-2 drops each time I remove my make up.

It was a little more expensive than the other make up removal products I use and I guess that is due to what is actually in the product, but L'Oreal isn't too expensive, so I was able to buy it without feeling too guilty for how much I had spent. There are other brands that are around £20 and as I student I can't afford that so luckily this version is in my price range.

I would definitely purchase this product again and recommend it to other beauty bloggers, friends and family. It does take some time to get used to it though.

My favourite things about this particular make up remover is that it doesn't take long to use, it removes all my make up in one use, it keeps my skin hydrated and this product in particular is more affordable compared to other products that are similar.

Are there any other make up removing products you guys recommend? let me know in the comments below.

See you on Wednesday my lovelies!

A Night On The Toon | Outfit Inspiration

Hey Guys!

Today I have collaborated with StyleWe again to bring an outfit inspiration post for you guys. If you guys don't know who StyleWe are go and check out my previous collaboration with them to find out more information, I will link it at the end of the post. As you guys know I live in Newcastle and night life is a big thing up here in the toon so I thought I would share some outfit ideas with you guys for a night out in the city.

There are some amazing places to have a great night out up here in the North East, so if you ever get the opportunity have a night out in Newcastle!

Today I have three different outfit ideas for you guys

Jumpsuits

I don't where jumpsuits very often and I only have one in my entire wardrobe. It isn't my favourite piece for a night out but I want to try out new things and experiment a bit more, so I thought I would add it to the selection so we both can get some ideas and inspiration. Jumpsuits look very stylish but also very comfy! I'm big on comfort on a night out and so I would have to choose a jumpsuit that wouldn't bring too much discomfort haha!

If I was to wear a jumpsuit for an evening out in Newcastle I would opt for a dark blue/ plum or black, due to the fact it is a classic colour that you can pair with anything and a lot of different style of shoes and colours with pair well also such as red, white, cream or any other bold colours. If I were to wear a jumpsuit I would go for a simple black option, and then bring colour back to the look with a pair of red, blue or white heels and a small clutch bag. But if you also want comfort for your feet you could also wear a pair of pumps like vans or converse to dress it down a bit and make the look a little more casual, depending where you are actually going out in the city. Here are a few jumpsuit ideas from StyleWe.

Out of the collection  I would probably chose the first one as it fits my style more than the others! StyleWe have a great selection of cheap jumpsuits that are affordable and will look great for a number of occasions. Give them a try if its not something you would normally wear

I love a nice evening top to match with a straight line skirt or pair of black jeans for a night time occasion, I have a huge collection in my wardrobe to choose from when I go out :) So, tunic tops are always a great option! I have both plain and decorative pieces for different occasions and chose which one fits the context of the occasion. If its a night out I tend so chose something that stands out but I'll also be comfortable in, especially when I know its going to get very warm in the club and therefore, I don't want something that is going to make me too hot! With a tunic top as well there are so many cuts and styles to chose from depending on what you are wanting to pair it with. You can get cropped tunic tops, long styles and halter necks that will all match with certain types of bottom pieces whether it be a skirt, pair of jeans, trousers or shorts.

Below are some tunic tops available through 'Just Fashion Now' which are pieces that I would choose for myself if I wanted to purchase more tops for my wardrobe. Out of the two pieces I would prefer the first one due to the fact I could pair it with my favourite straight black skirt and then a pair of black boots! StyleWe has a great collection of tunic tops and as does Just Fashion Now, so there are many places to buy these pieces from. The first image gives me inspiration and an idea of what to wear for my birthday celebration on Monday, when me and my friends go out in Newcastle :)

Off Shoulder Tops

When I go out I tend to wear jeans or skirts with a top instead of a dress or an all in one outfit as I find separate pieces the most comfortable for the evening. My favourite style of top to wear for a night out is an off the shoulder piece or something similar like a halter neck. I tend to pair my favourite white off the shoulder top with a black skirt or black jeans and black boots! I like off the shoulder tops because they aren't just basic and plain they add something different and pairing it with a black choker is always a great option and is one of my favourite looks!

Here are some of the selection StyleWe and Just Fashion Now have on their website that could give you some inspiration. I always find that scrolling through retailers websites and seeing what they have available gives me ideas and inspiration on what to wear. From the images shown below my favourite is the red pieced paired with the black skirt and choker. That would be a great ensemble for a night out at my favourite club in Newcastle! Its something ideal that I would opt for

By giving different types of outfit inspiration you can pair something together from your own wardrobe or you could look through the website and buy a piece from their collection.

If I was to choose any of these outfits or style choices for a night out in the city I would choose the red off the shoulder piece as there are so many items of clothing in my wardrobe that I could pair it with and it would look great for a night time occasion in Newcastle.

StyleWe have a great selection of clothing to choose from to form an outfit for a night out in the city, so check out their website! They also have their own blog where they talk fashion, beauty, lifestyle, the power of women and reviews on their products. Recently they did a blog post on Christie Brinkley's anti-ageing beauty secrets and gives some insight into that beauty mystery. I recommend giving it a read or checking out their other content!

I hope you guys have got some ideas and inspiration from this post and you chose a great piece for a night on the toon! You'll look great

See you on Sunday my lovelies!
