The Lazy Day Tag

I love to have a lazy day every now and then to have a rest from school work and have some time to myself. A lazy day is a good opportunity to give your skin a rest from make up and to chill! :)

#1 What's Your Lazy Day Skincare Routine?

When I have a lazy day I tend to just stick to my usual cleansing routine but I miss out 2-3 products so that its more simple. Firstly I'll use my Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1 face scrub to wash my face, I'll then use the Nivea Soft Moistursing Cream to hydrate my skin, then on my eyes I use Simple's Kind To Eyes Soothing Eye Balm to brighten them up and then I leave it at that, quick and simple :)

#2 What Is Your Lazy Day Make Up?

On my lazy days I tend not to wear any make up as I'm not doing much and I'll probably only be doing errands around the house so I like to give my skin a rest and have a make up free day :)

#3 What is your lazy day hairstyle?

I either put my hair in a pony tail, bun or french braid depending how I'm feeling on the day! Anything that will keep my hair out of my face and out the way

#4 What's your lazy day outfit?

Exercise shorts/leggings, t-shirt and a hoodie. I like to dress comfortably when I'm being lazy and my exercise shorts are the comfiest clothes ever!

#5 What's your lazy day scent?

When I'm spending the day at home being lazy I like to put Impulse Vanilla and Peach body spray on as its a fruity scent but it isn't too overpowering!

#6 What's your lazy day pampering product?

The pampering product I use the most when I'm having a lazy day is face sheets and face masks as I can treat and cleanse my skin while doing things around the house :) My favourite face mask to use is the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque!

#7 Your Lazy Day Food/Snack?

Fruit either apples, melon or grapes to be healthy and if I'm wanting bad food I'll have chocolate or cake, most of the time I try and be healthy but every now and then its nice to have a treat :p

#8 Lazy Day Drink?

I'll drink water most of the time but if I don't fancy something plain I'll have fruit juice like Orange juice, I try to make smoothies to be a bit more adventurous but I can't stand the texture, so that always fails :p

What do you do on your lazy days?

See you soon lovelies!

DIY Face Masks

Hey guys!

I've recently been doing a lot of DIY face masks so I thought I would share these 4 different masks that you could try out:)

#1 Almond and Honey Face Mask

Almond powder is great to use in a face mask as it can treat acne, repairs the skin from sun damage, reduces lines and wrinkles and soothes the skin. Therefore by using it in a face mask you can be treating your skin in more ways than one. Also, Almond also has vitamin E so therefore it is good for healing scars and evening your skin tone. The honey in the mask is good as well as it is an anti-inflammatory, it nourishes the skin, soothes the skin and protects the skin so honey keeps your skin healthy.

Ingredients:

1tsp Almond Powder
1tsp Honey

Instructions:

-Cleanse face thoroughly before and make sure your hair is out of your face
-Put 1tsp of almond powder and 1tsp of honey in a small bowl and mix well until it forms a thick paste, then add a drop of water to make into a creamy texture.
-Apply the face mask evenly all over your face
-Leave for 5 minutes
-After 5 minutes exfoliate using the mask to buff the skin
-After exfoliating rinse the face mask off
-Pat face dry
-Your face should be left feeling fresh and smooth :)

#2 Honey Face Mask

Honey is great as it nourishes the skin helping to heal damaged areas like acne scars, it soothes the skin so it leaves your skin feeling smooth and is an anti-inflammatory so reduces redness in the skin. Honey also protects the skin so using a face mask like this will build up protection, reduces redness and nourishes damaged skin.

Ingredients:

2 tbsp Honey

Instructions:

-Cleanse face thoroughly  and clip hair out of your face
-Put 2tbsp of honey into a small bowl
-Apply evenly over the face
-Leave for 10-15 minutes
-After 10-15 minuted using a face mitt or face cloth wipe the honey off your face
-Once all the honey has been wiped off rinse your face with luke warm water making sure any honey remaining is washed off
-Pat face dry
-Your face should be left feeling smooth :)

#3 Baking Soda Face Mask

The benefit of baking soda is that it is an effect way of getting rid of acne and blemishes due to it being a natural antibiotic that can cure fungal infections. It can also help get rid of acne scars and heal the damaged tissue. Other than helping fungal infections that cause acne and other blemishes it can also help with blackheads as it can help draw out the infections and makes it easier to remove the blackheads from the skin. Baking soda is a great mask as it deals with the different infections in the skin but it also can ease inflammation in the skin, opens the pores and prevents pores from clogging by absorbing the oil.

Ingredients:

1tbsp Cool Water
2 tbsp Baking Soda

Instructions:

-Cleanse face thoroughly and make sure hair is clipped out of your face
-Mix 1tbsp and 2 tbsp of baking soda in a small bowl until its combined
-Apply evenly over your face being careful around your eyes
-Leave for 5 to 10 minutes
-After 5 to 10 minutes using a face mitt or face cloth wipe off the baking soda
-Once all the baking soda has been wiped off rinse your face with luke warm water until no more baking soda is present
-Pat your face dry and apply an oil-free moisturiser
-Your face will feel clean and soft :)

#4 Turmeric Face Mask

A turmeric face mask is great for your skin as turmeric contains a photochemical called curcumin which can benefit the skin and body. This mask works for acne and eczema, it reduces redness and inflammation and heals the skins tissue that has been damaged either by acne or other blemishes. It also reduces wrinkles and softens lines on the face. This face mask should brighten and rejuvenate your skin.

Ingredients:

1tsp of Turmeric
1tsp Honey
1tsp Milk

Instructions:

-Cleanse face thoroughly and make sure your hair is out of your face
-Mix 1tsp of turmeric, 1tsp of honey and 1sp of milk in a small bowl until its all combined  into a thick paste
- I suggest you wear gloves to apply this face mask as it stains and to be careful when applying it as it can stain your clothing
-Apply evenly over your face being careful around your eyes
-Leave for 5-10 minutes
-After 5 or 10 minutes rinse your face using luke warm water until there is no remains of the face mask
-Pat your face dry
-It should leave your face feeling smooth :)

I hope these face masks work for you too :)

See you soon lovelies!

A Versatile Blogger Award

Hey guys!

I've never heard of the versatile blogger award before so this is new to me, but I'm willing to give it a go! I was nominated by Beth from My So Kohl'd Life- thank you for tagging me! I've done the Liebster Award before but I've never tried any other type so I'm looking forward to this tag and I hope you learn a bit more about me. Please check out Beth's blog its amazing and has great content!

Rules of this award:

* Thank the person who nominated you
* Include a link to their blog
* Write 7 facts about yourself
* Nominate 15 bloggers to pass the award on to

My Facts:

1) When I was younger I lost my two front teeth while on holiday in Devon with my family so I used a box my grandma had given me and kept them safe under my pillow for the tooth fairy to collect :p But when it came to the end of the holiday we were packing and I forgot the box was under my pillow, so when we left the cottage and returned back to Derbyshire I realised I had left my box behind but it was too late to go back. So even to this day I think about the box and two teeth I left behind. I don't know why I'm still so attached.

2) I'm currently learning to drive, its harder than I thought and is taking me quite a while to learn but I'm willing to be patient.

3) I had braces for 4 years and it felt like the longest time ever! Within that time there was a lot of pain and removal of teeth. But now that I look back it was all worth it, I love how my teeth look now!

4) I love writing lists and planning out what I need to do on a piece of paper. I like to visualise what tasks and errands I need to do and then tick them off. I have a little OCD when it comes to organisation.

5) I love action and adventure movies like Star Wars, James Bond and all the Marvel films but I also love a good comedy or chick flick.

6) When I was in secondary school I had quite long hair then one day I decided to have it all chopped off because I was getting fed up with having to maintain such thick long hair so I went to the hair dressers and had my hair cut into a bob. It was the biggest mistake ever and I regretted it so much. I love my hair now so never again will I make that mistake.

7) When I was in Year 4/5 at school I loved watching the kids TV show W.I.T.C.H and thought that when I grew up I would marry Caleeb (who was an animated character) haha :p

How To Be Organised

Hey guys!

It can get stressful when you forget to do an important errand or miss an appointment, don't you agree?  So being organised can be very important. Here are a few ways I keep myself organised and a few tips for you.

#1 To-Do Lists

To-do lists are the best way for me to stay organised, I write lists to ensure I complete everything I need to that day. I like being able to tick off what I have done so its obvious what I need to do next. By writing a list I can visualize what I need to do and which tasks have priority above others. You can create your own to-do lists from a scrap piece of paper, notebook or you can buy one already laid out like this one. You can purchase ones similar to this at Paperchase for £5. I recommend using to-do lists when you have a lot of tasks to do throughout the day and you can't remember them all, so by writing it down you can have an order and not forget to do something important.

#2 The reminder app on your phone

If I go out and don't have my to-do list with me I use my IPhone reminder app as a to-do list as well as a task reminder. I find the reminder app so helpful as you can set an alarm when something needs to be done or completed. It helps you visualize what tasks you need to do and you can put them in order of priority. I use this app everyday as I always have something I need to do and will need reminding to do so, by setting the priority level and a time it needs to be done by I can make sure that all my tasks for the day are completed.

#3 Notes

I don't use notes as much as the reminder app but I find notes easy to use and if I have to remember important information like emails or addresses it can be stored easily and then when I need it later I can easily find it. It can be an easy place to also store ideas for blog posts in my case. For example if I get some inspiration while I'm out an about I can use notes to jot down what I want. Even though you can't set reminders and it isn't a good method for creating a to-do list it is still very helpful with storing important information you need to remember.

#4 Diary

I tent to use my diary at Sixth Form more than anything as it helps me record important dates, deadlines and meetings. What I love about this diary is that it starts September and ends July so therefore it fits in with the school months and already has important dates and school holidays written in. What I love about a diary, especially this one is that it has times where I can write down specific information related to important times and appointments. You can purchase a similar diary in Paperchase for £5 :)

#5 Calendar

I don't use a calendar as much as my diary as I use my diary on a daily basis due to being at school 5 days a week, however I do find a calendar just as helpful, as I can visual my meetings, appointments, birthdays and can then organise my errands and days around what I already have planned. I tend to forget I have a calendar though so I rarely use it compared to my diary or reminders on my phone.

If you have any other methods of keeping yourself organised let me know so I can try them out! :)

See you soon lovelies!

June/July Favourites

Hey guys!
I haven't done a favourites post in about a year and seeing as July has now ended I thought I'd combine my June favourites with July and show you what I've been loving these past two months! :)

 Beauty Related-

Soap and Glory Flake Away Body Scrub 300ml

I've used the Soap and Glory Flake Away Body Scrub for years but this month it has been my savoir. It was recently my cousin's wedding and I was wearing open toe platform heels, so my feet were on full show. A few days before the wedding my feet weren't looking in their best condition so I started using Flake Away and after a few uses my feet were amazingly soft and didn't look dry or cracked. It definitely made my feet look superb and I was confident wearing my heels. And I'm going on holiday in a few weeks so I'm gonna continue to use Flake Away in August to ensure my feet are dry and cracked free for the beach! :)

Barry M Nail Varnish | 318 Peach Melba

I actually borrowed this from my cousin after finding it at her house and I've been using it ever since. At the moment I'm loving light colours not colours like a neon pink but subtle colours like this peach. I'm not currently wearing this polish as I had my nails done for my cousin's wedding but I was wearing it a while before. It lasted ages and only chipped a few times which is good for me haha :P It is definitely one of my summer recommendations and perfect to wear with white! If you want a basic nail polish that will add a bit of colour to your outfit this is perfect!

eJove Aloe Vera Body Lotion | From Lanzarote

My skin can be very sensitive so I try to use body lotion that has no perfume or anything other than natural ingredients, so Aloe Vera is perfect! I always buy Aloe Vera when I go to Lanzarote as its so much cheaper compared to brands in the UK.  I've being using the eJove brand this month and I've already ran out so I'll have to wait till I go to Lanzarote again to buy some more. What I love about this Aloe Vera is that you only need a little bit and don't need to cake it on as its so moisturising and soaks into the skin so easily! It perfect for when you have got sunburn as well as a little bit of Aloe Vera will soothe it and reduces the risk of peeling. Aloe Vera body lotion is perfect for the summer :)

Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack | 10 Pack

A review on this brand of blackhead removal will be up on my blog soon! What I've been loving about this nose pack is that it doesn't make my skin inflamed and its not a painful process, its so soothing and cooling to the skin. Its one of the easiest methods of blackhead removal I have found. I've been using it for a while and after seeing such great results its now one of my favourite beauty regimes along with other cleansing routines. If you want to know more about this brand and the process look out for the review on my blog :)

Animal Panda Whitening Face Mask | SNP

I recently posted a review on this face mask, if you haven't read it already go check it out :) I can't wait to re-purchase the different types that SNP are selling especially the dragon one haha :p What I've been loving is that its so cooling and seeing as its summer its perfect. Here its constantly humid and has that sticky atmosphere that everyone hates, so this mask makes my face feel so fresh and cool. I love that feeling! Don't you?

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation | 52 Vanilla

This is by far the best foundation I have used in a long time! I can't even begin to explain why I love it. It smells amazing, feels so light, you don't need a lot for a good coverage and its affordable. As its summer and the temperature is increasing I don't like to wear heavy foundation or a lot of make up so this foundation has been my best friend. I only apply a little bit and it lasts all day! Woo! :) Its the type of foundation where you can't apply it wrong. I experimented using different methods to applying it including a foundation brush, beauty blender, by hand and either way it has a flawless finish. You can even use it to just cover up blemishes as it blends so well. This is my #1 in my make up bag at the moment.

TV

The Return Of Superman | Korean Reality TV Show

The Return of Superman is a Korean reality show that aires on Sundays on KBS World TV. I have to watch it on KBS World YouTube channel as I don't have KBS over here in the UK. The Return of Superman is about Korean celebrity dads who are left with their children for 48 hours, while the mothers go away for either work or relaxation. Therefore the dads have to entertain and explore different activities with their children. It is a very fun and entertaining to watch. I've bee getting really into it this past couple of months and have become familiar with the families. Its the highlight to my Sunday Night :)
School 2015: Who Are You | Korean Drama

This is the best Kdrama I have seen since Emergency Couple and Boys Over Flowers. Its so dramatic but a feel good drama. I cried at so many episodes and it had many heart stopping moments. Who Are You is a drama based on two girls, who are twins, but were separated when one of  them (Eun Byul) was adopted and the other (Eun-Bi) was left to grow up at the orphanage. After Eun Byul goes missing on a school trip she returns but has lost her memory. So throughout the drama she tries to find out what happened and discovers she is a twin. As I don't want to give any spoilers I'll stop there. Its quite a hard drama to explain as so much happens in between and there are so many little details. But it has a brilliant ending and definitely gives you the feels hehe :p
Orange Marmalade | Korean Drama

I finished this drama yesterday and I have to say the ending was pretty good! Not as good as Who Are You but I did enjoy the ups and downs of this drama. Orange Marmalade is about two high school students called Jung Jae-Min and Baek Ma-Ri, Baek Ma-Ri's true identity is a vampire and Jung Jae-Min falls for her. It's quite a strange drama because it starts off in present moment and then switches to 300 years before then switches back to present day. But it all makes sense in the end :)

The IT Crowd | Channel 4

I only found this recently on Netflix and it was on the suggestions list so I thought I'd give it a go after my mum raved about it a while ago. It is such a fun show, I watch it before I go to bed most of the time so I can unwind and relax. You don't even have to concentrate its the type of TV show that comes in one ear and out of the other, its comical and not full on. Which is perfect for someone like me.

Music
Hopeless Love | Jimin Park

Hopeless Love was released back in April but I only discovered it recently on YouTube after watching a few Real Got7 episodes. Its not a happy tune and has quite a sad melody but I love the soft tone. Even though sad and slow music can be quite depressing this song does the opposite to me and puts me in a good mood.  I think its because I love the MV, Jimin's voice and the lyrics are relatable :) It a song I love to get ready to in the morning and I find it puts me in good spirits for the rest of the day! If I could have anyone's hair it would be Jimin's.

Me Gustas Tu | Gfriend

Gfriend recently released their 2nd mini album Flower Bud and their new song Me Gustas Tu after countless teaser photos and videos. Me Gustas Tu has to be one my favourite songs by Gfriend so far other than Glass bead :) Its so upbeat, bubbly and jolly, an instant up lifter :) The MV is so fun, with lots of bubbly dancing which is both charming and fun! The song is so catchy and summery that it is 3rd in my Top 10 summer playlist! It is a great summer tune!

Can't feel my face | The Weeknd

When I first heard this song I didn't like it, but then around the fourth time I heard it I really liked the tune and turned it up full blast. Its weird isn't it when you hate a song and then suddenly you grow to like it. I've liked The Weeknd for quite a while but its only recently he has become more popular and released more music. Its now at the top of my playlist!
Books
Looking For Alaska | John Green

I got given Looking For Alaska as a gift, and as you do with most things I put it to the side to read at some point in the future, so this month after seeing it in my pile of books to read this summer I decided that as I was travelling a lot in June I would spend some of my time reading. At first the book was a bit slow and it seemed pretty boring until the story began to unravel a bit more. It takes me a while to read books as I tend to start them and then put them down for another couple of weeks however, with Looking For Alaska I haven't put it down and haven't forgot about it like a lot of books.

See you soon lovelies!
