Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water & Hydrating Booster Review

Hey Guys!

After running out and in desperate need of a make up remover I popped down to my local Boots and normally I would have just grabbed my usual choice of micellar water the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for sensitive skin, but I saw that Simple was on offer so I decided to give their new Water Boost skincare range a try!

I've used a few different micellar cleansing water products now, some having oil bases and some just been specifically for delicate and sensitive skin so I'm always open to try different brand's line of cleansing products. For ages people have raved about Simple's Water Boost cleansing line and at lot of YouTuber's I watch, like Sophia Chang and Jenn Im have been partnering up with Simple to showcase and review their new range. So from watching them and reading many other reviews and impressions on the micellar water and hydrating boost I thought I would give it a try for myself!

Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water

One thing I notice every time I use the product to take off my eye make up is it doesn't make my eyes sting. I've had some occasions when using Garnier Micellar Water when I've put too much product on the cotton pad and when I go to wipe my mascara and eyeliner it leaks into my eye and stings like crazy! Where as, so far I've not experienced any stinging or burning to my eyes which is great! Other than not stinging my eye it is also great at breaking down my tough eye makeup like my mascara. Normally it takes a while to get my mascara and eyeliner to budge but with the Water Boost Micellar Water it lifts really quick so I don't have to keep rubbing my eyes and making them inflamed and irritated :)

When I've finished removing all my make up my skin is left feeling soft! Sometimes after wearing make up my skin can be quite dry but every time I've used this micellar water my skin is left feeling hydrated and not stripped. Other than the hydrating aspects of the product the smell is also something I always think about because if it doesn't have any perfume or fragrant smell it tends to be better for my skin, and this micellar water has no smell to it, it is very neutral which proves they are true to their claim of not having any artificial perfume or colour in their products!

So far I'm really liking this product and it has helped keep my skin, especially when I've been wearing make up all day, bright and hydrated :) I just wish they did a smaller version for travelling as the bottle is quite heavy and big, so if they did a small bottle like Garnier I would be even more sold on the product!

Simple Water Boost Hydrating Booster

I've never seen a brand do a product similar to a primer, but specially for hydration. It is definitely something new so I was excited to give it a try and see if it would do anything for my skin. They give three suggestions of how to use it:

1. As a hydrating primer layer
2. Add to your moisturiser for a booster
3. Apply directly to the really dry areas before applying moisturiser.

I've been using it as a hydrating primer layer then occasionally as a booster and adding it to my Nivea moisturiser. I didn't notice a big difference straight away but that can be quite normal for most skincare products because it takes time for them to make a difference. After a few more days of using it in my skincare routine both in the morning and evening I started to notice a difference to the dry patches on my face, such as around my temples, on my cheeks and around my eyebrows. You only need a little bit for it to go a long way, I've been using around a bean sized dollop and and with just a small amount it covers my entire face and dries quickly. One thing I like is that it doesn't have a sticky consistency, so it doesn't go tacky or anything it absorbs into the skin very fast! I dislike products that go really sticky and tacky as it just makes products that I'm putting on top look odd and then it sits weirdly.

It is a very lightweight product that doesn't feel heavy on the skin and it does make my skin look much brighter and when put into my moisturiser my skin has a fresher look, kind of a dewy glow. Similar to the micellar water it doesn't have any fragrance or perfume scent and it has a pure clear appearance so they haven't added any unnecessary colours either! From looking at the packaging I like that they explain why the minerals benefit your skin for hydration and how the plant extracts are used to maintain hydration and is a natural ingredients that is great for the skin!

I would recommend if anyone has dry skin, especially since it has been very cold in the UK at the moment, to try out Simple's new Water Boost range, as I have noticed a different with using the hydrating boost! For the price I paid I was very happy (but it was on offer the time I brought it so it was inexpensive).

What is your skin type? Let me know in the comments below!

See you on Sunday my lovelies!

My Night Time Summer Skincare Routine | 2017

Hey Guys!

Over the past couple of months I have switched up my night time skin care routine
a bit as I began to notice my skin gradually getting dry around my eyebrows and cheeks. I had also collected a few more products to give a try so I worked them into my skin care routine to see if they would work with the condition of my skin.

Lets get started!

#1 Micellar Water

I've used Garnier's micellar water products before so I knew they would work out for me when removing my make up, especially stubborn products like mascara and eyeliner. I love that it is so pure and basic but is perfect at removing all the impurities, oil and make up I've worn all day. It is definetley a go to product! I even buy the cute little travel version when I go on holiday as its just so convenient!

Sometimes if I just need to focus a little more on the removal of my eye make up because my eye shadow or eyeliner is a little stubborn I use the Nivea Daily Essentials Extra Gentle Make Up Remover. But the only thing I don't particularly like with this make up remover is that sometimes it stings and makes my eyes really sore, which doesn't seem right if it is suppose to be a product focusing on your eye area and states that it is 'extra gentle'. It isn't every time but it has happened to catch me out and basically blind me for a few seconds! But it works when I need it to so I'll continue to use it haha!

#2 Cleaner/ Scrub

In the evening I use my Simple Foam Cleanser as its great at removing the rest of my make up that was missed in the previous step. It is really gentle and soft, which is perfect as I tend not to use a really harsh scrub before applying a detox face mask and its been doing great wonders for my skin. Since using this product my skin has started to get much softer and brighter. When I wake up in the morning my skin isn't as patchy and I don't have any red inflammation which I used to experience when using other face scrubs and cleansers. At the moment I'm trying to be more delicate with my skin and treat it better so a gentle cleanser is always a good product to turn to

#3 Face Mask

I've mentioned this face mask a few times now on my blog and it is still an amazing product! I don't use it every time I cleanse my face, only three times a week as using it every time would stress my skin out a bit too much and I don't want to use it excessively. As you might be able to tell I've finished all of it and will need to look for another face mask to use next, but I highly recommend the Pure Clay Purity Mask for it has helped clear my acne prone areas like my cheeks and jaw line. It does run out quite quickly though considering you are suppose to use it three times a week!

#4 Serum/ Treatment Oil

I've been using this Serum for the longest time and I've always loved the results so I've never bothered trying anything new or a different brand. I probably will in the future when I'm in the experimenting mood but at the moment I'm happy with what it does for me! I like using a serum as it retains more moisture which is great for my dry skin. And it has anti-wrinkle remedies in it, and I know I'm only 19 but prevention is key and I have terrible terrible frown lines on my forehead so anything that will help reduce those I try haha!

#5 Night Cream

I've used this night cream for a while now and it is quite a thick night cream which some people aren't a fan of as it takes a lot longer to soak in and be absorbed by the skin, but for the evening I tend to put on a thicker cream so that my skin can absorb a greater amount of moisture while I sleep. They do say that between 10pm and 2am your skin is at its best healing point and so that is the time you should be applying products to be absorbed and getting a good night sleep. I'm not sure how true it is but I don't mind going to sleep a bit earlier now that I actually have things to do this summer :)

#6 Eye Cream

This is one of the new products I had picked up and wanted to try! I have been using a few Lacura products for a while now, especially their serum. So, considering  this is a product from the same range I thought I'd see if it worked for me. So, after incorporating it into my skincare routine for around two weeks now I've began to really like it. It is a gel so it has a very sticky texture but after application give it about two minutes and it is fully absorbed and doesn't leave a sticky residue around the eye. You only need a really small amount as well so this small tub should last me a while!

When it is officially Autumn I'll probably end up switching my skincare routine up again as my skin will probably get a lot of dry patches so I'll have to tailor what products I use to deal with that problem! Is anybody else looking forward to Autumn already?

What is your go to product when you get really dry patches on your skin? Let me know in the comments below!

See you tomorrow lovelies!

Simple Kind To Skin: Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser | First Impression

Hey Guys!

In a previous post I spoke about a recent Boots haul and how I was planning on doing a few first impression posts to see if any of the products I bought were as good as I would hope, so here we are!

Recently I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos where Simple have been discussing their products and how they #makeup4makeup, so after not using any Simple skin care for a while I thought it was about time I tried them out again and see if my skin has changed. Around four years ago I was using their sensitive skin moisturiser when I had an allergic reaction on my cheek and neck, so since then I was really put off and any Simple product I refused to buy but I'm willing to give them a go again! And it was on offer in Boots, so I can't complain!

I've never used a foaming cleanser before as I've always stuck to both face scrubs and face gels from Nivea or Garnier, so I got a bit excited when it came to washing my face. I love face washes that have a pump as its just much cleaner and easier to dispense and the product doesn't get all around the cap :) So I undertook my usual night time cleansing routine and then it came to using my new face cleanser.

The first thing I noticed was the pump lets out a lot of product. On the bottle it said to use two pumps each time, but when I did exactly that a lot was dispensed and a bit too much for me. I only need a small amount to cleanse my face as I've already removed all my make up with wipes and micellar water. Therefore, I don't think next time I'l need to use two pumps worth, I think even half a pump would be enough, so least now I know to be a little less generous and be stricter on the amount I use.

I really liked how the product lathered up in my hands before applying to my face, some products I've used in the past like the Nivea Gel Face Wash doesn't lather up that great so most of the product just slips off your hand, but this was great! No product went to waste

It doesn't have a strong fragrance and it seemed unscented to me, which is good for a sensitive skin care range as I know a large quantity of scented skin care products react with the skin. It appears to be a very gentle face cleanser and isn't harsh on the sensitive areas of my face neither drying out my nose or forehead.

My skin felt very smooth afterwards and appeared to be thoroughly cleansed! It wasn't a very stubborn product to wash off either. I know some face scrubs can be really hard to wash off which leads to the skin getting very aggravated but  because this is a foam cleansing face wash it comes off so easily and doesn't take much effort :)

After completing my night time cleansing routine I went to sleep and the next day my skin looked a lot brighter which hopefully was due to this new face wash!

Overall, I'm impressed with how well a foaming cleanser works better than a gel type face wash :) I'm glad I picked this up instead of the usual face cleansers I buy! Simple have won me back :)

What is your favourite face cleanser?

See you on Wednesday my lovelies!

Boots Beauty and Vitamin Haul

Hey Guys!

On Sunday I went to Boots to replace some products that were now empty but I brought more than I should have haha! I only went for foundation and a new face wash but I came out with some vitamins and micellar water as well  There were some great deals in Boots, so if your wanting to save some money there are some offers worth going in for!

Simple Kind To Skin: Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser

I haven't used any Simple products for ages as I had a weird allergic reaction to their sensitive moisturiser, hence I was put off and moved on to Nivea and Garnier, but after a few years and a great deal in Boots I thought it was time to try their products out again. So I picked up their foaming cleanser to try something new :) Most face wash products I use are a gel type consistency or scrub so I look forward to trying it

Multivitamins With Iron

This was an unplanned purchase but I'm glad I was able to find the right type of vitamins after thinking about it for a while. Me and my mum have been discussing different types of multivitamins to take as I'm determined to become healthier and taking some supplements will help support my diet and help with my iron, B12 and Vitamin C intake :) So after looking at the various amounts of different supplements and combinations I was able to find one that will hopefully work for me :)

Garnier Skin Active: Micellar Cleansing Water

I've used Garnier's Micellar Water for so long and have always had great results with my skin, so when it was on offer for £1 in Boots it was a must buy! I love their Micellar Water as its the best I've tried for removing both my base and eye make up  and it doesn't leave a greasy or sticky feeling afterwards! For £1 who is gonna say no haha :p

Bourjois Paris: Healthy Mix Anti- Fatigue Foundation

I've used a few of Bourjois foundations and have loved all of them! The Anti-Fatigue formula I haven't tried before, so when I couldn't find the one I've been using the past year I thought I'd give this one a go :) I look forward to trying it as I've never been disappointed with any Bourjois's foundations! One thing I love about their formula is that they have great coverage and it lasts for so long

I might do a few first impression posts for you guys in the next coming weeks! So look out for them :)

See you on Wednesday my lovelies!

Shiseido Full Lash Volume Mascara | Review

Hey Guys!

I while ago I got given the 'Shiseido Full Lash Volume Mascara' and I just put it in my make up basket with everything else and didn't really consider using it because I'm already using and loving 'The Rimmel London: Scandal Eyes Reloaded' but after a while I thought I would go for a change and finally tried out this mascara. I got the colour BK901 - Black Noir which is good because I hardly ever wear brown mascara.

On their website Shiseido claim that their product is: Unstoppable volume and clump resistance.

A dramatic, flexible volume mascara that creates a natural-looking curl with a soft finish. Designed with Shiseido’s original innovative 360 radial brush that deeply grabs lashes at the roots, this innovative, luxurious mascara separates and covers lashes for a stunning fan effect.

Layer-able resilient and smudge resistant formula.
Flexible, voluminous finish with curl that lasts all day.
     Easy removal with warm water.

When I took it out the packaging the bottle didn't look very high quality and wasn't like the bottle from their website, it wasn't curved or tall like the pictures so that was a bit odd so my first impressions wasn't the best but then when I actually used the product I was surprised at the results. I'm used to using quite a big brush that holds quite a lot of product but this brush was much smaller but still held the same amount of product. The brush is great and coated my lashes evenly and didn't clump them together like a lot of mascaras I have used before.

Instead of clumping it defined them and separated the lashes instead of sticking them together. Because of how small my eye lashes are I'm used to having very clumpy application but instead it just lengthens them, adds more definition and volume. Its a very long lasting mascara, especially for a long day at uni so I thought when it came to removing all my make up it would take forever but it came off so easily with a facial wipe, without making me look like a panda haha!

I think the product is very high quality and considering its £22 retail price I'm glad its not drying or a bad formula! I would say the only bad thing I've noticed is that if its raining it can cause some smudging around my under eye but I kind of expected that seeing as it isn't waterproof or anything. Considering what they said on the website I would say they delivered what they said their product would do :)

I would recommend the 'Shiseido Lash Volume Mascara' if your looking for a great quality mascara but it is a bit expensive considering how much product you actually get in the bottle. After I've finishing using it I'll probably go back to my favourite I mentioned before by Rimmel London :)

What is your favourite mascara?

See you soon lovelies!

Sammydress Clothing Review | Summer Collection

Hey Guys!

Today I have a review for you guys on 3 pieces of clothing from Sammydress's summer collection. Sammydress are a global online fashion retail company and have clothing for women, men and kids, and offer the latest clothing in women's clothing, men's clothing, men and women's shoes, bags and accessories, fashion jewellery, lingerie, children's toys, home & living and a variety of lifestyle products and there target as a retail company is 'to provide our global customers with high quality products at competitively low factory direct prices'. To check out more of their products go over to http://www.sammydress.com/.

Sizing

When I was looking at the clothing on the website and looking at what they had in my size I discovered that the sizing is a little different to the UK sizing system so firstly I was a bit flustered as to what size I should select for my different items of clothing, but thankfully after scrolling down the page they have a size conversion chart so that you are able to compare your countries sizes to the sizes of their items available. So therefore the conversion is simple and you don't have to try and guess your size. In UK clothing I'm a size 8 and sometimes a size 6 depending on the type of clothing and where I've brought it from, so on Sammydress I'm a size Medium (6-8).

Receiving the items/shipping time

I was sent three items from their summer collection including a tank top/crop top, and two rompers/play-suits. On the website and the emails I received from them it stated that my order could take up to 1-2 weeks to be delivered and I was so impressed that I received the package within 6 days which I did not expect. My parcel was delivered by DHL and there was no fault with the packaging, they were all individually packaged and then put in a bigger envelope seal. None of the package was faulty or damaged and the clothing was packed neatly into different sealed wrappers. So far with the shipping time and how it was packaged and presented I am very impressed.

Customer Service

The customer service at Sammydress has been great! They were so lovely and friendly and if I were to have any problems with the order they were happy to resolve it all for me and help me with any other problems that might have occurred. They are an honest and reliable team and luckily I haven't experienced any problems with the clothing or shipping, but if I did they would be able to help me and resolve the problem quickly.

The overall buying and receiving experience was very good and I'm even more impressed with the clothing itself.
I chose this item as it is very summery and bright, and I don't have any other tops like it. For summer I like to wear cute little tank tops and pair them with shorts or a  skirt. Most of my tank tops are plain and quite boring compared to this design. I've always liked my summer clothing to be fun and to be bright and colourful! Seeing as its been warming up recently here in England its been perfect to wear when I've been going out. Due to it being a short styled top I've either paired it with some high waisted jeans, high waisted shorts or a skirt.  Because of the design and print of the top I've only been able to pair it with plain and subtle coloured trousers or bottoms like black or navy. Unfortunately due to it being yellow you can't pair it with many other colours but for me that's fine  because my jeans, shorts and skirts are either blue or black or a jean design so therefore it goes with most of my outfits in my wardrobe.

I really like how this top looks on as well, its not too short that your stomach is on constant show but its not too long that it looks to big and oversized. And because of my petite size and not being very busty it suits my figure and doesn't make me feel like I need to make up for what I haven't got. The quality of the top is very good! The material of the top is like any average top and isn't a thin cheap material but isn't really thick either. Its so soft and isn't too tight around the arms or neck. Furthermore, the stitching is great on the top, there isn't any dodgy stitching or missing stitches and it looks like the stitching won't fray or come loose after being washed and ironed. Furthermore, the print on the top looks like it has been done very well and doesn't look like it will start fading after too many washes. You know sometimes when you buy a top and on the front there is a print that has ben pressed on and then after a while of wearing the top it starts to fade, well with this top its been printed differently so it doesn't look like the pattern can fade or start to peel off which is great!

The price of this top is £5.74 which is a great price! Considering the quality and how fitting the top is its better than I expected. If I saw this top in a retail store while I was shopping I'd expect it to be priced around £7.99 or £8.99, so this price is great! :)

I would love to take this top on holiday and wear it on the beach but I have to wait till December so I'll just have to hope for good weather here in England haha :)

I have many black dresses but I've never had a black romper/ playsuit before so this is perfect for this summer as it will be a great outfit choice for a meal out or for a night out with friends. What is great about this romper is that you can wear it casually with a pair of slip on ballet shoes or sneakers and then you can dress it up with a pair of heels or boots. It would be so cute for a date night and I'm excited to be able to wear it out so much this summer and take it to university with me, especially for freshers week! I really liked this romper as I knew I could wear it in the day and out at night and it will work for multiple different occasions. My favourite part to this romper is the spaghetti strap criss-cross at the front which covers the chest, because instead of accessorising with a necklace it has already added something to the outfit and a choker would look great with it on a night out. Furthermore, the elasticated waist is great as it accentuates my waist and shows off more of my figure. If the waist wasn't elasticated I wouldn't like this romper as it would be way too oversized and wouldn't look good on me at all. So thankfully the elasticated waist compliments the romper!

The quality of the romper is great! Probably the best quality out of the three items I received. This romper is lined with a silky material on the inside and then the black chiffon material is then stitched on top, so that the material isn't see through and it looks great with the chiffon on top of the black silk lining. Also, to fasten the top part of the romper there is a little button to tighten it and it is a bit fiddly because of how small the button is but its been attached to the romper properly so it doesn't look like it can be pulled off my accident or the button can unravel from the stitching. I think overall the material and quality of this romper is the best I've seen and its so comfortable. The material isn't itchy and you don't have to worry about snagging the material because this material doesn't seem to snag.

When I first saw the romper I thought it would be around £20 but actually its only £7.81 which really shocked me! Due to the quality and design of the romper its looks like it would be priced so much higher! I would buy another romper like this without hesitating! I wore this out to a family meal last Tuesday and it was so comfortable and even when I  was really full and bloated after eating you couldn't even tell :P

I can't wait to wear this out more often and accessorise it with different heels and jewellery. If I was to change one thing about the romper it would be to make the elastic waist a bit tighter as I have a very small and petite waist so it would be nice if it was a bit tighter!

Ethnic Style V-Neck 3/4 Sleeve Leaf Print Romper

I am in love with this romper! This is my favourite piece of clothing from the package and I've worn it so much! Its quite loose fitting around the arms and legs so its very comfortable and isn't restricting. And you can then adjust the waist size with the waist tie and make it more figure hugging around your torso. The quality of the clothing is very good, the material does crease easily and so if its folded up it will wrinkle all over so I've tended to hang it up in the wardrobe to reduce the creases. But due to the type of thin material it is it can leave wrinkles quite easily. The material is thin but the denier is quite high so you can't see through the romper so there were no flashes of my underwear haha! I really like the material of the romper as its light wear and comfortable, its great for packing in suitcases as it hardly takes up any room and doesn't weigh the suitcase down.

The quality of the romper is good for the thin material it is. In the future after a bit of wear the stiches may start to come undone at the bottom but at the moment the quality is great! Because of the thin material I do have to be careful with the zip because I worry that if I pull too hard the material might tear or the stitches might be forced to come undone, but other than the romper being very delicate and having to be a bit gentle due to the material type and the stitch type the material is great, especially for a summer collection piece.  The pattern of the romper I really like! Instead of just a plain romper I like patterns so that I can pair them with plain shoes or accessories. If I was to change anything about the romper it would be the white tassels on the waist tie. I do like the waist tie as it helps make the romper more figure hugging and adds something to the waistline but I would prefer it if the waist tie was just plain and patterned without the tassels. But other than that the romper is perfect. The price also for this romper is amazing! In Topshop rompers around the same design and style are prices at around £45 to £50 and in New Look they are about £20 so £9.70 for this romper is great! Recently I've been saving up for university so being able to buy good quality clothing for such a great price is perfect!

I love the way this romper looks on, I don't have the best curves and my body shape is very petite but I love the way it shows off my waist and isn't too long on my legs. Its so comfy and because of the material it would be perfect for hot weather conditions like when you go on holiday abroad somewhere. Unfortunately I'm not going on holiday till December but least I can still wear it to summer parties this summer! :)

SNP- Animal Panda Whitening Mask Review

I recently made a trip down to London and found myself in China Town. Down one of the side streets I found this really cute Korean cosmetic store, even though it was really small it had everything. After looking around for a while I found the animal masks that are a big craze in Korea at the moment. SNP and other Korean brands decided to create face masks that were different from the usual white and boring style and brought out the animal face mask range. SNP created four different types: the Otter for moisturisng, the Tiger for wrinkles, the Dragon for soothing and the Pander for whitening. These masks are so fun and colourful no wonder they are so popular.

The masks contain 750mg of coconut water, a mixture of 50% natural coconut juice and 50% coconut water. Coconut water is used as it is an effective way to replenish the moisture in the skin and improves your skins texture and tone. Furthermore, due to the cooling effect of the masks it can help with relieving inflammatory in the skin and skin troubles including damage from UV rays.

I tried the Panda face mask, as it looked so cute! When I opened the packet I wasn't sure what to expect but when I placed it on my face it was so cooling, it was similar to a wet wipe. It wasn't too slippery that it slid off my face, so it was comfortable to wear and I could get on with doing things around the house without worrying about the face mask falling off. Once I took it off there wasn't any sticky residue and my skin had absorbed all the masks essence, which was a huge benefit as I knew that it was working and I didn't have to wait forever for my skin to absorb it. After a while I did begin to notice that my face had brightened up and my skin wasn't looking as dull.

I will definitely be making a repurchase, maybe next time I'll try the Dragon! Hehe

If any of you are looking for a face mask that brightens your skin and leaves your face looking healthier I would recommend the Panda whitening mask as I could see results straight away and it was so fun!

See you soon lovelies!

Maybelline New York Cover Stick Concealer First Impression

I used the Maybelline New York Cover Stick Concealer for the first time yesterday since purchasing it and thought I would do a first impression post instead of a review. I've been looking for a good concealer for ages and I'm still looking. So far this product hasn't impressed me.

When I first put the concealer on my blemishes and under my eyes and around my nose it had a very thick heavy texture and when blending it out with my Real Techniques detail brush and Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge it took a while to blend out and I had to put a lot of pressure on the brush and sponge so that there weren't any lines. I noticed as well that around my eyes it didn't help hide my dark circles but created a dry clumpy look. Additionally, it made some of my blemishes dry and made them stand out.

However, even though it has a weird thick texture and appeared dry, when I applied the Maybelline New York Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer over the top it helped even it out and helped it appear less clumpy and dry. I think I will continue to keep using it until its finished but I will have to continue to use the Highlighting Concealer over the top to reduce the dryness and cakey effect.
