Blogmas Day 20: Tips for Sale Shopping with Hannah

Sorry for being two days behind schedule I've had a few Christmas parties so I haven't had the time to catch up. But I'll be back on schedule tomorrow  ❣

When it comes to shopping in the Christmas sales it can become very stressful trying to find what's on your wishlist, finding the best prices and wading through crowds of people doing their Christmas/ Boxing Day shopping. So, Hannah and I have got some tips and tricks on how to survive the Christmas/Boxing Day sales! Tips and Tricks 

Give yourself plenty of time:

The worst thing about shopping when you are on a tight schedule is you don't get enough time to look around properly and end up making rash decisions to buy everything on your list. The best thing is to go early and give yourself plenty of time, maybe having a break for lunch and a drink in between. Then you can take your time in each shop and you can enjoy it instead of stressing yourself out by running around everywhere trying to get everything. Make a plan of what time you want to start and what time you want to head home for so you know you are giving yourself enough time. Like Hannah said start early to beat the rush!

Write a list of what you are looking for:

The worst mistake I have made is not writing a wish list/shopping list before going shopping. So I end up not staying focused and looking at things I really don't need to buy, which leads to probably wasting my money buying things I really don't need. Therefore, make a list of everything you need to buy for people or yourself and put the most important at the top. 

Look at the price, not the saving:

When you look at how much money you are saving on an item don't let that be the reason you chose to buy it, look how much the product is priced at originally and see whether the reduced price is worth it or whether it would be best looking elsewhere. Sometimes when you see 25% or 30% off it looks like a great sale but when you actually look at the original price it isn't actually a good deal at all and is worth looking elsewhere!

Check which retailers are selling the same product so you know where to shop around:

After doing your wish list/shopping list it's best to check which retailers are doing the items you are looking for prior to your shopping trip so you know which shops are going to be the best for grabbing a deal. But also if you can't find a good deal in the physical shop then you know there may be a better sale online and you can get it delivered instead! Sometimes it is worth looking at both online and in-store to see where you'll save the most money. 

Be sensible with how much you are buying:

When it comes to shopping in the sales it is easy to get carried away and buying anything on sale without properly assessing whether you actually need it. So set yourself a limit with how much you want to spend and don't go over your budget. Also, don't buy so much that you can't carry everything. It is easy to keep buying and buying but realistically how much can you really carry home and not break your fingers. You can always go back a few days later!

Make sure to take your loyalty cards and student cards:

When shopping in the sales don't forget to take all of your loyalty cards and your student card (if you are in university) in your purse so least you'll get all the benefits, points AND half priced items! I got a black dress for £13 after 50% off and then got an additional 10% off as I had my students card with me. By having your loyalty card on hand you can occasionally get double points and discounts using your student discount!

My Travelling Wish List

Hey Guys!

After travelling to Brussels for a city break I got inspired to travel a lot more and see more of the world while I can, so I decided to create a wish list/bucket list of places I want to visit in the future. I haven't travelled to a lot of places as my family tend to go to Lanzarote every year for our vacation, so I haven't seen many other countries around the world. I hope that in the future I can visit these places and make up for what I haven't seen so far :)

Seoul, South Korea

I've wanted to visit Seoul for so many years and every year I would look at going but its so expensive to fly and its an 11 hour flight so I've kept putting it off until I know I can have the best possible experience! As I've learnt more about the city and what it has to offer I'm desperate to go on a trip. There are so many different foods to try, and different districts to visit that offer different aspects of the South Korean culture. I have a few Korean friends who have recommended different types of areas to visit and the best places to shop and explore. I want to explore Hongdae for the night life, karaoke, bars and street performers. Myeongdong for the shopping and buy some of my favourite Korean products like face sheets, lip tints, pore sheets and BB cushions ♡ Other than the really popular places for shopping and eating the palaces are number one on my list! Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace and Deoksugung Palace are three of the most popular among tourists and locals and also the Namsan Tower is among the popular destinations on my list ♡ There are so many dishes to try as well such as Samgyeopsal- Gui (Korean Pork Belly BBQ), kimchi jjigae, pork bulgogi, bibimbap and tteokbokki ❤ If I could visit Seoul it would be a dream!

Tokyo, Japan

As you can tell from the list so far I want to travel to a lot of Asia's main cities haha! I want to go to all the popular touristy places first so that I get a feel for the country and can feel comfortable not knowing the language :) Being in a city where there are people visiting from all over the world will make it easier for me to settle and explore knowing I don't need to speak the language. What attracts me the most is the food and unique cafes! I love the busy and constant city lifestyle, so visiting cities first is the best method for me personally :) In Tokyo the streets are so busy and there are different restaurants at every corner and for me I love that hectic and busy atmosphere! Some places I would love to see is the Imperial Palace, Imperial East Gardens, all the different gardens, Tsukiji Fish Market, Tokyo National Museum and definitely Shibuya! 

Maui, Hawaii

I've seen so many beautiful photos and videos taken in Maui and it looks incredible! The perfect holiday destination :) I've always wanted to go to Hawaii since watching Lilo & Stitch when I was younger and been attracted to the idea of great weather and lots of beaches! Now I've seen YouTubers visit themselves and shown the beauty through their videos it has really encouraged me to visit and try out the great food, beaches, meet the locals, watch the whales and visit the Haleakala National Park. I would be living a childhood dream visiting Hawaii ❤  

Hong Kong

I've wanted to go to Hong Kong for as long as I can remember and it is mostly for the food haha! But there are other reasons I want to visit :) I would spend most of the time trying out different street foods and experiencing different types of cuisines but other than that I would love to see a few temples and the Tian Tan Buddha, Temple Street Night Market, the Clock Tower, The Peak to see the great views and the Avenue of Stars! I would love to go down all the hidden streets of Hong Kong to try proper homemade and authentic Chinese food!  One thing I'm going to be eating a lot of is Dim Sum haha ♡

San Francisco

There are many places I want to visit in America but considering how big it is and how many cities and states there are I will probably only have the opportunity to visit two or three and San Francisco is one of them! It seems like such a beautiful city! It has so much to see and offer and as its North California you can travel down to Los Angeles and pay a visit there too :) Of course the most famous sight to see is the Golden Gate Bridge but there are so many other places that I want to visit like Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, Pier 39, Aquarium of the Bay and try out their cable cart system ♡ two of my favourite YouTubers Weylie and Wah  (WahlieTV) used to live in San Francisco and from watching their vlogs it did encourage me to look into visiting, so maybe in the future after uni I'll get the chance to visit!

Paris, France

I've been to Paris before back when I was in Year 8 at secondary school but I would love to visit again! When I went in year 8 we didn't stay for long and we visited the very iconic and popular places but this time I'd love to visit some more historic places such as Versailles, the Notre Dame, The Louvre, Catacombs of Paris and get a better vibe of the city! When I went with school we couldn't go off on our own and wonder round, so this time I'll be to go at my own pace and see exactly what I want to see ❤ 

Barcelona, Spain

I've visited Spain many times on holiday with my parents and family but we have always gone to Nerja, 45 minutes east from Malaga and never to the popular cities! So, I would love to visit Barcelona and explore the city instead of the beach towns I'm used to. Barcelona seems like such a beautiful city with great weather! Why would you not want to visit haha! I really want to see more cathedrals and churches as the ones I've seen in Nerja are beautiful ♡ and the architectural buildings look stunning, so I'm sure if there was a city tour you would get the opportunity to see a lot of great places that are well known for tourist attractions such Park Guell :) 

Rome, Italy

My family have always wanted to go to Rome for a family holiday but its a bit expensive than our usual vacation to Lanzarote so its a trip we will have to save up for but there is so much we want to see and locations we want to visit! Some of our family members have been before and from the photos it looks incredible, so its definitely on the list for the future. We would definitely have to see the Colosseum, Pantheon, the Vatican Museums, Trevi Fountain and Borghese Gallery as they seem to be the top places to visit when in Rome :)

Berlin, Germany

Berlin isn't at the top of my list but there are a lot of places in Berlin I would like to visit such as the Berlin Wall Memorial, the Old Palace, the Zoological garden, German Spy Museum, the Friedrichshain park and the many historical locations around the city! I would only go for a short city break as I'd be able to visit most places within a couple of days :) If I was to go around Christmas I would definitely go to the Christmas markets and freeze in the cold temperatures haha! 

St Petersburg, Russia

I've watched so many programs and movies which have been filmed around St. Petersburg and it looks incredible! I've always been interested in visiting Russia but its not a place any of my family have visited before and I wouldn't know where the best cities to go to are but I know that going to St. Petersburg wouldn't be a mistake, it has the Hermitage Museum, the Winter Palace, Saint Isaac's Cathedral and the Palace Square and the architecture of the buildings are amazing! They are all so grand  ❤ There are a lot of city tours that take place where you go around most of the well known places and get to hear about Russia's history and about it being an imperial capital for 2 centuries. I probably wouldn't visit in the winter as I don't think I could cope with the extreme cold temperatures in Russia haha but any other time would be incredible! 

I have a very long list of places I want to visit and hopefully I'll get to travel to them all but for now I'll settle for one!

Holiday Wishlist

On Friday my mum, dad, best friend and I are going on holiday and so I'm going shopping to get some holiday clothes. I'm going to have to get some warm clothes seeing as where I'm going in Scotland its snowing on the mountains and its temperatures have dropped. So time to get out the woolly coats again. I thought this would be a good opportunity to share my holiday wish list and what I'm hoping to buy.

Blue Check Crochet Collar Tunic Dress: £ 11.00
I love this dress, its the perfect pattern and colour for going to Scotland and I have a love for collared dresses and tops. Additionally I love patterned clothes I used to wear basic patterns a lot in the past but know I've gone a lot more risky and begun wearing clothes with crazy patterns and designs.

Navy and Green Tartan Check Shift Dress: £18.00
This is another dress I love especially the tartan pattern. Yet again it is perfect for going to Scotland and the pockets on the sides add some more body then just a plain dress which I love!

Wide Fit Black Side Zip Chunky Block Heel Boots: £17.99
What a long name for a pair of black heeled boots. I don't normally wear boots as I'm more of a pumps person. However, I saw one of my friends wearing them to a meal out and I have wanted some ever since. I probably won't be able to wear them walking around Loch Ness but they are perfect for the evening.  

Essie Nail Polish Tart Deco 13.5ml: £7.99
Even though it doesn't seem to fit into the colour scheme its a colour which I definitely want to be wearing on holiday. Its such a bright cheerful colour and brings attention to your hands.

Navy Colour Block Faux Fur Trim Hooded Parka: £30
Seeing as I'm going to Scotland and where I'm going its cold I thought a warm parka would be a good buy. I love this parka as it has different shades and there isn't too much going on its simple and has a cute fur hood which will help keep me warm.

Parisian Black Check Leggings: £12.99 
If someone was to ask me leggings or jeans I would definitely choose leggings. They are so comfy and so flexible. I do wear jeans but sometimes I feel uncomftable. These leggings are simple but complex. The black and white colour means it can go with nearly any thing like a plain white tee or plain shirt and not look to much but the complex pattern means it isn't just a boring plain outfit and it adds some fun.


While I'm in Scotland I won't have much internet so I won't be posting but when I return back from Scotland I have a few posts lined up for you guys!
