Interview with Gracie Francesca

I had the pleasure of interviewing the lovely Grace from the well known YouTube channel and blog the 'uglyfaceofbeauty'.

1. Why did you start YouTube?

I was bored and I needed something creative to do. It sort of just happened.

2. What is the best thing about YouTube?

Connecting with people and inspiring young girls.

3. Who inspires you the most?

People telling me I've helped them and they've carried on because of my story.

4. How do you come up with ideas for videos?

Everyday life really. I'm inspired by the most random things. Mainly street style and other women in the world.

5. If you hadn't started YouTube what do you think you would be doing?

I have absolutely no idea. I would like to think something else creative but a part of me things I would slightly be off the rails haha.

6. What would you change about YouTube?

The anonymity & the hate. Although it doesn't bother me that much anymore, I just don't like cowards.

7. What advice would you give to people starting YouTube?

Be yourself, stay true to you, remember who you are and remember where you came from. Know your audience and have a passion for what you do.

8. Does YouTube sometimes get too much?

Yes.. I crash and burn every few months and I need a few days break.

9. What would you change about your channel?

Erm, probably the background. I would love a more professional set up.

10. Which one is your favourite, blogging or vlogging?

It all depends on how I feel. Right now I love blogging!

11. Lipstick or Lipgloss?

Lipstick! Orrrrr, a mixture of both if I can be cheeky and cheat lol.

12. Bright coloured or plain coloured tops?

Both. I don't ever stick to the same thing.

13. Favourite make up brand?

MAC.. How cliche!

14. Favourite clothing brand?

Asos & Topshop!

15. Favourite time of year?

Spring mornings and summer nights.. However I do like listening to the rain and snuggling up in bed. I can't decide.

16. Whats your favourite quote?

I can never answer this question because I literally love SO many. One that always sticks with me is "Love is louder than the pressure to be perfect"

17. When you go to Turkey what is your favourite thing to do?

Lounge around and sunbathe lol. Is that bad?

18. If you were stranded on a desert island what 5  beauty products would you take?

How can you ask me this lol? Mac fix+, Nivea body moisturiser, a VS body mist, white nail polish andddd my dream sleep cream by this works.

19. What is the most important thing you would tell your subscribers?

Remember that social media life is not always real life. Don't believe the hype!

Review of the Remington Curl Create Curling Wand

Remington Curl Create Curling Wand | £16.59

I've never owned a curling wand before so I'm not the expert with using them, however I'm so glad I now own one. It is so handy for quick curls and really light so I can pack it for travelling and not worry about it being to heavy.

I purchased the Remington Curl Create Curling Wand because I wanted to do my hair for prom and use a curling wand for cute tight curls, however I didn't use the curling wand in the end and just straightened my hair but I don't regret buying it. I own Remington straighteners and use it regularly so I know that they are a reliable brand. So far they have done well and for the price I brought them at I'm happy. On the box it states it has 4x protection and it furthermore says that the wand has ceramic coating to reduce heat damage and features ionic conditioning to lock in moisture which I have noticed. Even though most of the time I use heat protectant anyway I have noticed that it hasn't left my hair brittle or dry on the ends like other styling tools have.

It is taking a while to get used to and get the hang of using it fast without burning myself however I much prefer using this wand to using a hair tong because the curls are so much smaller and bouncier!

If you are looking for a relatively cheap curling wand that is effective I recommend this one!

Best friends, Madame Tussards and Shopping!

After prom my best friends and I went on a trip to London and it was incredible. Now that we have finished school and our GCSE's are all over we are all going our own way and going to different colleges and sixth forms, so we won't see each other everyday and will only see each other maybe a couple of times a month. So, we decided to go away and spend sometime together before a complete change. I wish we could have stayed longer and done more but we could only visit for 2 days. I love visiting London there is so much to do and see and hopefully I will be visiting again soon.

Here are a few photos from our trip:

On the first day we spent most of our time shopping down Oxford and Regent Street going into shops like Topshop, Urban Outfitters, Zara, Forver21, H&M and the Disney Shop (my all time fav!) Topshop even had a restaurant, cake and bubbleology counter which I didn't expect.

When we visited Covent Garden in the evening there were so many adorable stalls where we saw so many different handmade crafts such as these flower head garlands and soaps.

After strolling around Covent Garden and around the cute stalls and market we went for dinner at Wagamama. I've wanted to try wagamamas for so long so finally I got to! I ordered the Chicken Ramen which was amazing. They put so much in the bowl it was impossible to finish but it was the best ramen I've had. Alice also recommended the peach iced tea and oh my it was yummy!

On our second day we visited Madame Tussards and it was better than I expected. Even though it was really busy we managed to get around and see everything. The Chamber of Horrors and Scream was scarier than I anticipated, even though it was just live actors jumping out at you I have never screamed so much, I enjoyed it though. If you visit London I would recommend going to Madame Tussards!

Maybelline New York Cover Stick Concealer First Impression

I used the Maybelline New York Cover Stick Concealer for the first time yesterday since purchasing it and thought I would do a first impression post instead of a review. I've been looking for a good concealer for ages and I'm still looking. So far this product hasn't impressed me.

When I first put the concealer on my blemishes and under my eyes and around my nose it had a very thick heavy texture and when blending it out with my Real Techniques detail brush and Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge it took a while to blend out and I had to put a lot of pressure on the brush and sponge so that there weren't any lines. I noticed as well that around my eyes it didn't help hide my dark circles but created a dry clumpy look. Additionally, it made some of my blemishes dry and made them stand out.

However, even though it has a weird thick texture and appeared dry, when I applied the Maybelline New York Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer over the top it helped even it out and helped it appear less clumpy and dry. I think I will continue to keep using it until its finished but I will have to continue to use the Highlighting Concealer over the top to reduce the dryness and cakey effect.
