Recent Movies I've Been Obsessing Over | Part 1

Hey Guys!

While I've been home from university I've been catching up on a lot of TV shows and movies I didn't have chance to watch while I was studying, so nearly every week I've been getting through a decent list of movies! I'm more into watching TV shows than movies as they are shorter and I'm not forced to concentrate as long haha but recently I've been getting more into movies :P I made the post into two different parts as otherwise the post would become too long and boring, so I split it into part one and two so it isn't dragged out as much, as you can tell from part one there are a few Disney movies

 Let's Go!

Beauty & The Beast (2017)

I've always loved Disney movies, I mean who doesn't! They are classic movies for most people in my generation, we were brought up on most Disney movies and even at the age of 19 I'm still in love with the concepts that Walt Disney created!  So, when Disney revealed that they were going to begin adapting our childhood favourites into live action movies I must admit I was worried and sceptical. I was conscience that they might ruin the classic version and try and make it into something it isn't but I had a little faith as at the end of the day it is still the Disney company creating these movies! So, when the movie came out I didn't get the chance to see it in the cinema as I was really busy and by the time I had the opportunity to go to the cinema everyone had already been and seen it. Then, finally when I came back to my family home I had the chance to see it... and it was amazing! Like hands down fantastic! It was just as magical and enchanting as the original Beauty & The Beast movie but with even more surprise. The fact they were able to add some scenes that weren't in the original didn't ruin anything for me and gave more light to the story.

I was also really sceptical about the fact Emma Watson was going to play Belle. For me Emma Watson will always be Hermoine Granger to me, and I know I shouldn't just link her to one role she has played as she will play many more great roles but she was so exceptional in the Harry Potter series of films that she will always remind me of her character! But when I watched her in Beauty & The Beast she didn't remind me once of Hermoine and I think that must be because of the character difference and setting of the film. It isn't a film you can compare to Harry Potter as they are very different movies. I was surprised and relieved at how well Emma Watson played Belle, and her singing was something else! Who knew she could sing that well :)

Overall, I loved the movie! Loved it. Of course the original will always be my favourite because I grew up watching it but, the new one has a lot of love from me and is one that I could happily watch over and over

Moana

My friend and flatmate Jess went to see Moana back when it came out last year and raved about how good it was, so finally it got released on SKY and I was able to watch it! With anything Disney I'll 9/10 have to see it as none of the movies they have produced have disappointed me so far! And Moana hasn't let me down either. What I love about this film is that it has absolutely nothing to do with a love relationship between the two protagonists, though for a second I did think maybe Maui and Moana would become romantic in some way but they didn't and I'm glad! Don't get me wrong I love a classic princess and prince love story especially Disney's versions but I'm glad this was purely about Moana and her heritage :) It is such a feel good film and its both funny, sad and enchanting in every way that Disney is

The soundtrack for this movie as well is brilliant! I have it on my iPhone so whenever I need to get work done or a sing along the movie's songs are my go to! They are just so fun and uplift your mood :)

If your a Disney lover or just love feel good movies Moana is definetley one of them! Like Beauty & The Beast I can watch it whenever!

The Jungle Book (2016)

I actually never liked the original 'Jungle Book' when it was released back in my childhood. I watched it a few times but I never really liked the concept or any characters except Baloo, so originally when the new live action 'Jungle Book' came out I wasn't bothered about seeing it at all, even when people would rave about it I just passed it off as I film I didn't really like and wasn't interested in. However, while I had nothing to do this summer I was scrolling through SKY and saw that 'The Jungle Book' had been put into Sky Premiere so having nothing else to do I thought I'd watch it and see what the hype was all about!

And...it is actually an incredible film! I cried so much towards the end and considering it is live action they did so well with the CGI for the animals and those characters that couldn't be played by an actor!

They gave it such a different perspective and made it so much more adventurous that the original animated version! The characters like Baloo, Mowgli and Bagheera are so loving and fun it makes the movie so cute and fun! Its a feel good family film but it does have some sad elements, especially related to the family of wolves that brought Mowgli up

If you didn't like the original animated version like I didn't I'm positive you will like the live action version! Seeing a different aspect to the film is so enchanting!

King Arthur: Legend of The Sword

When it was advertised for the cinema I actually really wanted to go and see it but then all my assignments at university needed completing and handing in so I never got the opportunity or the money to be honest, so since I came home for summer I've had plenty of spare time and in the evenings I have nothing else to do so the choice is to either watch movies, TV or read. Therefore, I chose to watch 'King Arthur one of the nights and damn it was so action packed and thrilling! There is so much going on and fighting it doesn't have chance to get boring!

The actor Charlie Hunnam reminds me a lot of Tom Hardy for some reason, whether it is the appearance or because the character has similar traits to those of the characters Tom Hardy has played but he played Arthur so well and I couldn't imagine anybody else playing the character!

The film is quite a long film, hitting the two hours mark, but it has to be that long to fit in all the good action packed scenes! I actually thought it would be a very realistic historical movie purely based on methods of fighting and combat but it also has witchcraft and spiritual methods as well, so it has a mix of everything really! It has a great cast list and Jude Law is a great villain for the movie, a role I'd never expect to see him in!

Overall, it is a great movie and I think some of the critics were a bit too harsh on the reviews of the movie! Especially on David Beckham's scene, I thought he did very well for his first acting role considering it isn't something he has done before and it wasn't a long scene either, so I think people were just being a bit too harsh because it isn't related to football!

What is your favourite movie you have seen this summer? Let me know in the comments below!

Part 2 will be out next week!

See you on Wednesday my lovelies!
