Leaving Sixthform and Moving On

Hey Guys!

So yesterday was the official day I left sixth form, after two years of being there and 7 years of being at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School that chapter is now over. Even though Year 13 still have exams we left officially yesterday for study leave and then we never have to go back. There have been some ups and downs due to A Levels and going to sixth form but it was all worth it in the end. It was hard work and the most stressful two years of my life but I'm proud that I've now finished and all that hard work hasn't gone to waste and thanks to the pressure and hard work we can all move on knowing we tried out best.

It's been amazing and I wouldn't have been able to do it without all the teachers and my friends support. You do have to prepare yourself for the hard work because these two years will be the most stressful but rewarding two years. I'm sad to leave because I've made so many friends over the 7 years I've been here and they are all amazing but I'm excited to start the next chapter in my life: University!

I hope everyone doing A-Levels and any other vocational course whether in sixth form or college has had an amazing two years and good luck with all your exams!

Amy Tries It | Yushoi Snapea Rice Snacks

Hey Guys!

Sorry I've been gone for so long and I've hardly uploaded recently, these past few weeks/ months have been so hectic and stressful, with school work, A-Levels, University prep and then working as well, so I took some time to concentrate on them aspects of my life and now I'm back with some exciting content for you and a new series that I'm welcoming to my blog :)

'Amy Tries It' is going to be a new section/topic introduced to my blog where I'll be trying different types of beauty products, food and anything else that looks interesting enough to try. So, when I try out these different products and foods I'll be documenting them on my blog, like a little mini review so you guys can get an idea of what they are like and can read my opinions on what I've tried out, whether its positive or negative feedback.

The first product I'm trying is a food product that I found yesterday in the supermarket: Yushoi Snapea Rice Snacks!

Yesterday I spent the day with one of my closest cousins and her children, having a catch up and spending time together looking after her 7 year old step-daughter and year old daughter so it was a busy and hectic day running around and seeing all the family! But when we had a moment to ourselves we popped to the local Tesco store and planned to buy a few snacks and some wine for our movie night we had planned. So when I saw these in the snack aisle its the first time I'd seen any Asian snacks being stocked in this Tesco store so we picked them up to give them a try. We picked up two flavours to try but in total there for four flavours in stock. We chose the ones that looked the most adventurous. We picked up the Sweet Chilli & Lemon packet and Soy & Balsamic Vinegar but the other flavours were Ready Salted and Smoked Salt and Szechuan Pepper.

I've never tried anything like this before so it was new for my cousin and myself to try but we were eager to see what they tasted like. I've tried Tao Kae Noi Crispy Seaweed before from the Asian supermarket which I really liked so I was convinced I would enjoy these snapea snacks too seeing as I like trying new things that aren't something I'm used to eating.

The Sweet Chilli & Lemon flavoured packet were very different to how I imagined they would taste. I thought the sweet chilli would be really overpowering and there would be no hint of lemon, but they were very different. The chilli was only mild and the snapea stick wasn't covered with the powder so it wasn't so hot that you didn't need a glass of water afterwards. You could taste the lemon and together they are a really nice combination. The texture of the snapea rice stick was like any other snacks and reminded me of Wotsits, the same texture and broke off the same. That is how I could describe the texture, you have ever had wotsits or cheese puffs than they are nearly the same. They were nice and actually quite addictive once we had started to eat them but my favourite were the Soy and Balsamic Vinegar flavour.

The Soy and Balsamic Vinegar flavour we were similar to ordinary salt and vinegar crisps but then had a very different aftertaste and after tasting the vinegar the soy sauce made an appearance. When we picked up the packet I was a bit hesitant because it seemed such a weird combination for a savory snack but we decided to give it a go anyway. After trying it my perception completely changed and it works so well together. Its different and innovative so thumbs up to Yushoi! :) If you don't like spicy and hot snacks than the soy and balsamic flavour is probably your best bet.

If you want to try a savory snack that is a little different and you want to go a little adventurous tries these out, you'll be surprised how nice they are :) I rate the Sweet Chilli & Lemon flavour a 7/10 and the Soy and Balsamic Vinegar flavour 9/10!

I'll be doing a few more posts like these where I try out different products and then giving them an overall rating so look out on my blog for more :)

See you soon lovelies!
