Last weekend my parents and I went down to London for a weekend visit. We travelled down on the Friday, after school and caught the train from Derby train station to London St. Pancras. I love London it was my second time visiting London and I'm already in love with the place. There was a lot going on while we were down there such as the musical festival which we passed on our way to the British Museum.
On Friday we just booked into our hotel and ate out at Nandos, I could live at Nandos!
On Saturday we got up early and went down to Westminster on the tube, eating breakfast on the way we saw Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye then headed to Buckingham Palace, as we got to the Mall the changing of the guard was in full swing so we stood on the edge of the road and watched as the guards marched past on their way to Buckingham Palace (a lot of grit got in my eyes and dust) and followed them down to the gates but there were thousands of people. So, we decided to head over to Leicester Square to grab some lunch. After getting lunch at Yates we headed to Picadilly Circus. After admiring all the theatres and shops we went over towards Russel Square and went to the British Museum. It was so busy we only went to see the mummies (my mum loves Egypt History) and left. Due to my dad having an award ceremony that night we arrived back at the hotel for my dad to get ready. My dad left so my mum and I had dinner out.
On Sunday it was a bit less hectic as we packed all our clothes in our suitcases and put them in the storage room at the hotel to collect later before we went to the train station. We were due to catch the train around 3 o'clock so we travelled on the tube over to Oxford and Regent Street. We popped into Libertys, Selfridges, Hamleys (which was amazing, if only I was a child again), and some others. Getting to the train station with all our stuff was a nightmare but we got on the train picking up some lunch on the way from Marks and Spencer's and travelled our way home which was a disaster due to the fact we forgot to reserve seats, so all the carriages were full so we had to sit on the floor near the toilets. Pleasant! Not!
London is a beautiful place and would love to live there. Everyone should at least visit London once!
See You Soon :)
